Harmonic Mixing vs. Non-Harmonic Mixing

I feel that when mixing harmonically the transitions go a lot more smoother and nicer than non-harmonical mixing, but I also feel limited to the amount of tracks I choose when mixing harmonically, for example if I wanted to play a track that may or may not key clash but will definately not mix harmonically I may not have a transition as smooth. Anyone had a similar issue, whats the possible solution?

This has been discussed here before. Do a quick search and you should find the lengthy discussion.

That said, you don't have to always mix in key. Your best bet is to use harmonic mixing as a helpful tool, not a ruleset.

No need to be an obvious moron about it.

Dosen't hurt to be nice and show me a link to the thread, but im happy you have that bookmarked and showing it off to people who ask questions that have already been asked before, if it inflates your ego online, behind your keyboard.

i think u missunderstood. i dont have the link to any of the threads discussing this subject, i just remember it was discussed some month ago. you will have to search yourself and if not successed maybe others would have tried helping you then, after you did the search yourself. but as you found it yourself this whole thread could be deleted imo (which you as original poster can do).

I personally had all my music named with the key harmonic, all it did for me was make me more focus on choosing the appropriate key rather than choosing the right freedom of tunes. It really takes your creativity away from the Djing aspect. For example it made me more aware that the track i want to use next is not harmonically correct, so it would drive me nuts.

It's really up to you, but as in for now, I removed all the harmonic number off my songs, so i wouldnt know what is what.
