she can't take it scotty!

Ok, so I just picked up a bunch of new rekkids, one of which is dj vortex and arpa's dream - incoming (arome rmx). This tune is reallllly hard, could be used as a bridge between hard trance and hard house at a party or such. The problem is, it is so crazy hard to mix. I don't know what it is, but every time I try and do it, it sounds like crap. I can get it beatmatched easy, but I can't decide where to bring it, it seems that it has so many elements, so that when I do bring it in, it totally sucks. Just wondering if any of you guys have tracks like this.

It's not hard or anything, but Art of Trance - Madagascar (Push Remix) is really hard to bring in. At the beginning of the song you don't get much of a bassline to work with (i.e. it doesn't last long) so what I do is just use that as a fast mix. If I don't do it as a fast mix, I will bring it in with something like Leama - Melodica and just use mainly the bass from Leama to bring it in. I hope that makes sense to you.

Either mix it in really fast (no one says you have to have a long mix every time)or use the bass from the "live" song and let all the crazy elements from Incoming (Arome Mix) do the talking. That way, at a point where you know the bass from Incoming will kick back in or whatever, you can just, at the same time, kill the existing bass and switch to the bass from Incoming. I would say just do a fast mix though

I've used to get this problem alot usually with hard trance tunes. Some of the tunes i have start off heavy and also end the same. Best thing i find to do is to get your 2nd tune which will kick off when the 1st tune ends. Sometimes this works good but when your mixing you have to kinda try and take away a few elements of the track so it will sound good when the 2nd tune kicks off. Kinda like a basic beat till the 2nd tune kicks in.

Hope this makes sense hehe
