Joris Voorn - Live @ Creamfields 2010 - Essential Mix 11-09-10

Anyone else looking forward to hearing this?

Really enjoyed his last essential mix, so I'm interested as to what style he played out, (guessing housier stuff for Creamfields).

Doubt it'll go as deep as his last EM but its all good.

Yes, it probably won't be anywhere near his first EM in terms of construction and complexity, mainly because it's a live set. Still, I hope he'll enough room for "Balance" references - well, a few at least - instead of going straight up for a pumping tech house he's into lately.

It's a live set so it will be nothing buy jacking tech house I guarantee it. In fact we can probably start predicting some of the tracks that he's gonna be playing...

as far as tech house goes...joris is one of the better guys because he is a real dj vs the producer trying to.

Looking forward to it. His last mix for BBC is not only one of the best EM's ever but probably one of the best mixes I've heard from any DJ.

Although it's a liveset, I'm sure Joris will have a few surprises.

Nopt only a live set but a live set at a festival.

It will cater for a festival crowd, not for repeated listens for people at home.

I'm glad you feel the same way.

I'm really surprised it wasn't at least nominated for the 2009 EM of the year. One of my favourites, along with Danny Howell's '07 and Steve Bug EM.

very groovy mix so far

Yeah, all the tracks in the first hour sound the same & not in that good way.

here come the festival songs

A really poor set by Joris. Only thing I liked was that one bouncy tune right after the Reboot remix of Un Dia.

He should have left the Daft Punk & Michael Jackson for the High School party .....

Joris Voorn has completely lost the plot IMO.

Arrrgh, this is dissapointing. Not had the chance to listen to this yet(will dl once I finish work) but I expected as much.

Just from listening to his live sets from Space this summer, (he was dropping MJ in June, ffs) it didn't sound anything like the Joris of old.

Here is the tracklising for those who are interested - First hour IMO doesn't look to bad on paper, I'll leave my impressions after listening to the whle thing.

Radio Slave Orchestrating Maneuvres In The Dark (M.in & Patrick Lindsey Remix)
Thomas Schumacher Bandera (Hermanez Dub)
Darkrow Lets Groove (Ronan Portela Remix)

NDKj Funkest Star (Minicoolboyz Remix)
Luis Flores Vitamins 4U (B4U Dub)
Robert Babicz Dark Flower (Joris Voorn Magnolia Mix)
Johnny D Tramodyssee
Juana Molina Un Dia (Reboot Remix)
Julian Jeweil Opening
Loko Kixa

I think some of you are on crack...or maybe you forget that live sets are aimed at those people at the event, not all the geeks at home downloading.

He's playing at Creamfields closing the night and he was after Eric Prydz. The set needed to be high energy, banging, with a few crowd pleasers thrown in and above all FUN!

For me this set delivered and I can imagine had I been there, this would have been great to dance to.

Something like his last EM for example wouldn't have gone down well at all at an event like this.

Quinyx, when you say "(he was dropping MJ in June, ffs)", is this a complaint that two months on he is still dropping the same track?

+1

not a great at home listen, but a great festival set. Lots of solid banging tunes. Really enjoying it. Wish I was there

Yeah what the hell, he was on after Prydz on Creamfields
That says it all right there at what you should expect from this set.

Set is great, I'm sure he couldn't play all the tunes he normally would want in his EM (when he has more time to think about the programming) but there's nothing wrong with this.
