Most of them would sound all cheap and cheesy anyway.

Producers should keep their hands off the original, and just come up with something intelligent and original.

There are some exceptions though.. (check my reply in the 'favourite remixed mainstream tunes'-thread)

i know two old tracks (not exactly scholl tracks but anyway) that have very successful remixes:

Snap - Do you see the light (push) or (steve murano)
LFO - LFO (rob searle remix)
