-- Digital Structures is back!!!
Digital Structures is back!!!
Digital Structures was started by Sweden's Peter Didjital, Sebastian Mullaert & Marcus Henriksson back in the turning of the millennium. During the last decade it gained massive reputation as a leading, trend making label and a quality standard setter in psychedelic progressive trance scene, exclusively representing top notch artists such as Son Kite (now known as Minilogue), Ticon (a.k.a. NDSA), Vibrasphere and many more.
The new decade finds Digital Structures reorganized and changing ownership as well as its sound and musical direction. Yuli Fershtat of the Perfect Stranger project and Avishay Balter (A. Balter), have taken over the front seats of Digital Structures management team and have directed the beat to their own imprint of uplifting melodic techno sonic possibilities, greatly inspired by the label's history.
Digital Structures agenda is to provide solid dance floor material for the new age, where boundaries between different genres have melted. This is the time of crossover dance floor music that can relate to different crowds and still stand out.
No genres
No definitions.
Just good music that hits where it counts.
The first release is expected by the end of the month. More info soon.

Good, please tell Perfect Stranger and Ticon to stop making electro.
Great news!

Perfect Stranger has nothing to do with "piss poor electro." I'd say the promo nails it: "melodic techno."
We're not really into electro... So you can ease your fears...
Thanks for the good feedback, people!
Good to hear this. DS was a superb label run by some top notch guys I had the pleasure of acquainting in real life. Will be watching this

m
just another shittee label. what are these messages all about?
No, it's a legendary label making a comeback under new management: two of the best producers in the field of progressive techno. That's why it's news.
First EP out now on Beatport:
A. Balter vs. Eitan Reiter- i Rich EP (DigiStr01)
01. A. Balter vs. Eitan Reiter - iRich
02. A. Balter vs. Eitan Reiter - iRich (Andreas Henneberg Remix)
Check it out here: http://beatport.com/s/r1barf
.
Tech house. Just what I thought. What a shitty start for a label with such great reputation.
lol what a shitty release

God forbid- Tech House!!! Techno!!!
Why can't people just listen to the music anymore? Open your mind, drop the definitions and formulas, what a boring world you must be living in...
This is a nice debut. I like how Henneberg changed the whole feel of the original and turned things upside down.
Good luck to DS.
Shahar @ AZ.
yeah, progressive, house, tech-house, minimal etc. These days there's a lot of blending with the genres anyways (which I enjoy) so if their first release sounds tech-housey it doesn't surprise me one bit and doesn't say anything regarding the sound of future releases. As long as there's some forward thinking so to not get stuck in the exact same sound release after release I think it will be all right
Having said that, this particular release didn't quite fit my taste but I'm definitely not dismayed. Looking forward to the next release.

Digital Structures have a history of being a label with a chain of groundbreaking releases so releasing something as dull as this can hardly expect big jumps for joy. I'm pretty sure this release will be forgotten within 1-2 months and never picked up again. Compare this with some of the gems they released in the past: Vibrasphere - Archipelago, Ticon - Zero Six After, Etnoscope - Drums from the dawn of time, Jaa - Fiction, Son Kite - Colours and so on... It's such a pity that so many progressive labels have narrowed themselves down to produce exactly the same tech house sound and so many producers such as Antix, Tegma, Perfect Stranger have jumped on the tech house train. |

| Originally posted by Magadansky I am not a fan of tech house either but the sound you are referring to was as common as the technoish sound is nowadays. The albums you cited are very similar one to each other (except the Etnoscope one which is still one of the most unique in the prog genre) and there were also a lot others sounding the same way. I loved that sound but I guess it drained out and it has to pass some time before some labels return to the roots. |

Sure they all fit in the progressive label but that's why I liked DS so much. They had the best acts in the genre. And released the most memorable albums in the genre. |

Not to say that I'm on any side of these debates going on, but I found this release to be very standard and generic. Both sound like something that would fit into Digweed's EM which was for the most part, boring and uninteresting.
Hope the next release is more to my tastes.
