Thumbs up [Movie] Austin Powers 3: GoldMember

I just got back from seeing this and it was funny as hell! I really think this tops the first two in terms of humor. The script is really well written and there's some great surprises as well as new takes on jokes from the previous two. I wish I could tell you guys about some of the funny parts but it would probably ruin them. The whole theater was laughing 90% of the time. One of the funniest movies, if the funniest movie of this year so far.

There is however a lot of Dutch people bashing in the movie...I don't really know why but I know there's a bunch of Dutch people on the boards. Like it was a bit funny at first but then there's more and more jokes about Dutch people...who I think are very nice and the joking wasn't necessary but I still loved the movie.

Hehe, I think part two was the best.

But, this movie rocks. I alwayz look foward to watching Austin Powers Movies. I must have seen part 2 like 20 times really. Never gets old to me. Tooo funny. The Dutch bashing wasnt all that bad, they were basing goldmember since his character was Dutch hehe. Awsome movie though, only if you think Austin Powers Movies are funny would I suggest you to go watch this one.

No...some of the jokes were directly at him whereas some were directed at Holland itself. Example: when they're talking about Belgium being bad and they're like, "they share a border with Holland after all".

To be honest I dont remember that part. If you think about it all the Austin Powers Movies are making fun of somebody or something so I wasnt suprised really. IMO I thought Duch people would find it ammusing. Like when he sais Fera instead of Father & ect I thought it would amuse them. When I see it again I will pay more attention to the dutch jokes.

Tom Cruise as Austin Powers

The original was by far the best and funniest(not too stupid, gross or obnoxious) and part 2 infinitely inferior. Part 3 is somewhere in the middle.

bah whats wrong with making fun of other countries for a joke?

its not like other countrys don't make fun of the US

Posted by Nadi on Jul-27-2002 07:09:

I havnt seen the new one yet but I'd venture that number 2 is better simply because heather graham is soo much hotter than that destinys child chick

I laughed my ass off at the beginning.

Dixie Normous. lmfao.

And also, Beyonce' Knowles is a MUCH better actress than Heather Graham ... but not as hot

lmao... when dr. evil is arrested... "Toronto Maple Leafs win Stanley Cup" scrolling on the bottom... riiiiiiiight, like that'll happen any time soon

Movie is sickly hilarious

This makes me curious about all the Dutch jokes... For myself, I won't take offense from a movie, and I'm sure the rest of Holland won't either

Was looking forward to this one anyway (hasn't been released here yet), but this makes me even more curious..

the good thing about austin powers movies is that they are always funny and don't bore at all (like most sequals and follow ups do! )..

can't wait to see this one, mmmm.. maybe i'll download it!

Hmmm i thought the second one was funny right till they just went on and on about the "coffee" bit. Man thats just american humour and it's just unnecesary but otherwise it was good. One was the best obviously though

I was wondering the same thing. My friend and I were expecting to see her knocked off in the first few minutes of the film like the 2nd Austin Powers and then she wasn't in any of the movie. Weird.

"There are 2 things I absolutely can't stand.

One, People who are intolerant of other people's cultures.
And two, The Dutch."

"The Belgian family made you so damn evil, but then again, Belgium does share a border with the Dutch." (or something to that extent)

if you really mean that you hate the dutch then i think you're kinda strange!

it would be like saying: i don't like jews or something.. and that's racisme!!

please tell us.. i'm quite curious!

"There are two things that I hate the most in my life:
Racism
and Black people"
