Pauly D makes $20k for each DJ booking

I don't know much about the bookings side of EDM...what's the average amount DJ's make at a gig compared to this guy?
Of course the venue/capacity varies, but I'm talking about :
- A festival
- A large club
- A smaller club
- An underground party
Does anyone in the know have some estimates?
Whatever, it's their right to charge however much money they want and if people are paying up, more power to them. But why anybody would see any value whatsoever in hiring these idiots is beyond me.
Anyway, as for your question, there are definitely some EDM DJs making more than $20,000 a gig. Obviously this is at a festival-level, but these DJs are so big that they don't play anything but festivals. It ranges greatly, to be honest, considering all the factors in the equation. It doesn't take much to make a DJs stock rise, and of course it depends directly on the party's attendance as well.
tiesto was to receive $250,000 for a single night in LA but the show got cancelled
enough to pay the 2.49$
Look how talented...
He only makes 20k a gig?
not surprised this guy has way more fame then tiesto sadly
If he gets 20k then he is paid about the same as Steve Angello.
Some of them are out there...Not a fan of his, from what I heard Morillo got paid around $36,000 to play in boston on a thursday night last time he was here. and the place closed @2am like every place does.
haha. Pauly D's music is GARBAGE (pronounced with french accent). it's true that he is a talentless hack -- but hello - why would anyone be surprised he's popular thanks to mtv, which promotes more ghetto culture than virtually any other mainstream media outlet. the majority of people have ZERO taste. just think about ur high school class! Why is cheesy house taking over the EDM scene?
I do think that he deserves to get paid that much if the market will bear it. If all of the ghetto PWT will drop their minimum wage pay checks to go see him, then god speed to him. let's face it, even ugly strippers make pretty good bank!
yeah more power to him if he's getting paid that kind of money- milk it for everything it's worth buddy, cuz it can only last so long. eventually lack of talent will catch up.
speaking of which, any of you guys ever see him live?
it sounds like he trainwrecks like right away there. maybe it's just the sound quality tho... and here's a track her produced i guess
and when it comes to how much djs get paid -- i have no idea, but i get the feeling that it's generally not public knowledge. with that info you could follow the paper trail all the way from the venue and see how much they're pocketing etc and it's probably better for a club when ppl don't know how much they're making off of certain ppl playing.

his set is just crap, playing the most overplayed music and yes, i believe the tracks are unmatched because start sounding so bad in that particular moment.
2nd i hate this ableton live guys...
3rd what a crap dj, no interaction with the crowd and he has the people becoming boring, except that girls who are just seeing the dancers and careless of the music. Notice also that the dancer spills the drink of a girl with this feet :P
About the money, for what i've understood they work around a fixed rate e.g
5000$/hour in a club
8000$/hour in a festival
And yes AvB,Tiesto,Guetta,Cox... are charging insane amounts, just think that Armin Only 2010 ticket is ~50 if the attendance is 30.000 persons = 1.500.000 O.o say 500.000 less for the venue (although i think that drinks and food pay the venue lights etc...), lights , general people wage.... so AvB is going to earn 1 million in a night. WIN
he's not using ableton, he's using serato.

Most DJs in the top 100 (save the superstars) get around $1,000 - $4,000 for a gig that pulls around 300-400 people. The bigger the club the more they can charge of course, and typically guys in the top 20 get atleast $5,000 - $10,000 per gig with DJs in the top 10 getting $10,0000 - $40,000. On a BIG night or festival, it can easily get up to $50-$80,000 for guys like Guetta or Tiesto, but that's definitely not the norm.
