Experienced the recent tornado that hit nyc? share your stories/pics here. I'm sure that some of us have a lot to tell, especially since we've never had a tornado of such magnitude hit nyc before.
I sat on my couch playing video games and was completely oblivious to what was going on outside because I made it home from work before the storm began brewing. I saw lighting and heard thunder only once followed by some heavy rainfall but really didn't think anything of it. It's rain, it happens
I woke up this morning to see the streets covered in tree branches, luckily my card didn't take any damage. The End!
not mine but scary

wtf there was a tornado last night??????
holy crap is that second pic for real???
i dont even know much about the storm/tornado yesterday i was at work in boondocks tarrytown and UES never gets shiott....not that i want people hurt or things broken but i do adore a good storm! I never get any though....
i remember when i was younger we had some good ones when i was in ct.
Cant we have those again? minus any injury or huge electrical outage/damage to property?
HHAHA ok im asking too much.
Post more pics!!!!!

i wasnt in the city but i was out east on long island down by the water. it was nothing special i just saw some lightning, rain, and it was windy other than that no biggie.
So apparently there was lots of damage just 3-4 blocks away from me. Bleachers were blown away, trees fell and blocked off roadways, some people still don't have power.

Queens took the bigger brunt of the tornado. My neighborhood is covered with branches and it's just a huge mess. Kew gardens and Forest Hills especially, some of the stuff is unimaginable. Humungous trees laying on the ground or landed on cars/houses...messed up sidewalks etc. just a total wreck
If you were in Mid-Town I recall tons of thunder and lighting but no rain. Then it became very dark and then the rain begain and 20 minutes later it became light again.
The E train was more packed than usual due to the LIRR weather/track issues. Cheaper and more reliable
except no schedules
I was sitting at my desk on the 34th floor by the South Street Seaport when the sky turned GREEN and torrential rains, winds, hail, lightning.
I went to take a piss and smoke a cigarette in the stairwell, and by the time i got back it was DONE.
Thank god i went out of the city through southern Queens, the 7 and the LIRR were shut down. Took my buddy SIX HOURS to get home from woodside to flushing in a car.
I live a block away from Queens College. If you saw the pictures of the College you can imagine my neighborhood.
Three windows of my car smashed. My neighbors garage is leveled. No power on my block due to three transformers hanging by threads off the posts. Trees down all over the place, I can't even drive a block close to my house. My neighborhood is a fuckin warzone. Everybody is OK though.
Geico is getting it later today LOL.

SIX HOURS TO GET HOME?? holy shit man that sucks.. the LIRR has been fuckin up lately causing more congestion on nyc's other alternative routes.. but driving six hours to get home. i would have been heated big time. its like by the time you get home you go to bed to get up the next morning for work lol.. sucks for his team.

Im super curious about brooklyn...anyone here in BK with info on how it was effect? I have to be there tomorrow and sunday - not that it really effects me im just curious
I didnt know so many of you guys live by Queens College. I live a block from the college myself. I hear it took people an hour to drive from 150th and Melbourne to get to the LIE. Did you get to see the pole that smashed on the Q64 bus stop? I foolishly took cover underneath it, I'm lucky to still be alive.

bronado
don't get hit by debris, bro.
I did see a lady on a bike and a little dog fly by, the bike had a front basket in which the dog took shelter...then Some red ruby slippers hit me in the head....I then woke up with Deadmau5, Pete Tong, PVD, ATB, AVB looking at me and humming a new track about a yellow road or something....think it had bricks in it
i saw twister in theater.
I didn't even know there was a storm. Coming home for the city last night on the LIRR I was looking out the train window and Forest Hills was destroyed. Every block there was tree down & bushes ripped out of the ground on almost every property.
My area is cleaned up for the most part, and everyone should have their power back by now.
