Any thoughts on a lead for this folks - I had a melodic one but since adding the current bass (which sounds like a lead) I don't know quite where to take this.

PS - Owien - it's a lot more worked than the version on anjuna - I cant get on that site today though, grr.
I'll say what I always say in these cases: Do whatever pleases you.
It's sounding really tight right now and I'll definitely be keeping track of its progress.
The bassline atm is actually a bit too wild for my tastes, but I really enjoyed everything else you had to offer.
Good job, Rich!
Honestly I don't think you need a lead. If I were you I'd add a bass that has a bit more sub presence just because if you didn't tell me that synth was a bass I would have assumed you already had a lead.
I don't know much about this kind of music but if I personally had to do anything with this I'd add a glitchy bell-type synth with a really long release and play a simple 3 or 4 note melodic phrase every few bars.
Put some Tablas in it
Oh yes
Something its wrong with soundcloud,
i wil wait to get fixed :P
I was thinking about asking you to make it downloadable so I could upload it into Sonar and noodle out some lead ideas, but, with what you've got, I think anything I could add would be crowding it. You might stick a couple of sub-bass notes underneath certain low notes on the bass/lead, but this sounds like it's coming along nicely.

the bass! great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!
try adding a melo :P or a very athmospheric pad
i need to hear this one done mate
I hear some plucks with alot of reverb kinda working off that bassline pattern. Something subtle that would add a bit of melodic movement.

| Originally posted by Richard Butler Nah, those WIP threads I've seen on other forums do not work. They get to confusing as one track after another is posted then recieves limited feedback and its often hard to tell what track feedback realtes to. I'd be up for a WIP section but not a single WIP thread - as it would kill feedback all together. |
