When games invade real life - It's already happening...
I watched this speech about a month ago at www.TED.com by Jesse Schell who is a professor at Carneige Mellon Univeristy.
It's about the future of gaming and the future of life, how lots of our day to day activities are going to be turned into a game, rewarded, just as they are in games already. Whether for better or worse by companies and the like, it's already starting to happen.
"Games are invading the real world -- and the runaway popularity of Farmville and Guitar Hero is just the beginning, says Jesse Schell. At the DICE Summit, he makes a startling prediction: a future where 1-ups and experience points break "out of the box" and into every part of our daily lives."

A lot of these games are to feed people's egos. It's a bad thing really, people want these achievements to have a reason to tell themselves, they are amazing. There are obviously pros as well but with a game like mafia wars, that is in my opinion a method to feed one's ego. Like in the video, if you spend so much time and money on a game like mafia, you tell yourself it's worth it when it really isn't.
It's like taking Foursquare and Waze to the next level.
Its both an interesting and yet stupid idea....but if it gets people more active then good.
dude you forgot part 3 which is the best one lol
