He sounds really excited, in a fake sort of way.

Did he like deadmau5's tattoo so much he had to take the idea?

Um..... actually......

Beatportal was forwarded this curious photo of Deadmau5 [a] today, who is sporting a huge neon green tattoo of a pixelated space invader on his neck. Ouch! You can see its still red on his neck.

Apparently Deadmau5 fancied getting a tattoo and chose that particular space invader image. So what?! I hear you say. Its just another star getting a tattoo, nothing special.

Yeah except, the image is actually the logo of French DJ and producer Joachim Garraud [a].

A source close to Deadmau5 said the star was embarrassed by the tattoo, having now found out that it is the exact same logo as Joachim Garraud, who has something of a Space Invaders-obsession himself having released his concept album Invasion in July 2008.

You can find the same logo on Joachim Garrauds website.

But is Deadmau5 tattoo actually real? Its hard to believe that the DJ and producer, who is normally so meticulous, might not actually have checked who else had his chosen tattoo image before giving a thumbs up to the big muscle man with the syringe.

If it was the logo of a rock band or r&b singer, or if it was located in a not-so-prominent position it might have been ok, but to have the logo of another electro house producer inked permanently onto your neck is probably too much to bear.

Then again, no one man should be able to use the space invaders logo for themselves till the end of time and maybe Deadmau5 knew about Garrauds logo (loads of people have paid homage to the mighty 1980s computer game over the years, in music, art and fashion), but thought it was cool anyway.

Of course, it might all be an elaborate hype scheme for a new project that Deadmau5 has planned with Garraud. At least we hope it is, otherwise poor old Deadmau5 will have to wear a giant mask at every gig he plays from now on. Like a giant mousehead or something.

His tattoo is permanent... thanks for all that I didn't know!

Joachim Garraud does play some good music though.

This is pretty cool

Its now about how you market yourself vs just the music... Great Idea though!
