Rasta When making a track, which is the stage you enjoy most?

For me it is when the general idea, main loops, are down and I have to develop the structure of the track...

drive and groove.

???

For me, it's all about the second of the three parts. The one in between underpants and profit. Sure, underpants and profit are fun and all, but for me that's not where the greatest enjoyment lies.

The part when I'm done. I hate making songs, I just like the end result lol.

The moment where i think to myself, fuck yeah this is nice.

Cowbell.

Seriously, though, it's the moment when everything just "clicks" and the track just flows out.

Yes, after the cowbell it just clicks in 99% of the cases.

This.

It's great when the idea you are working on suddenly seems to come together

I lol'ed so hard my girlfriend asked what was so funny...

I enjoy writing melodies the most I think.

The best for me is the moment when the track comes to life. Having some elements that sound well together and have a nice ring to it. It makes you feel like you're on a high.

If I have some chords or melody going on already and some drums and I'm working on the bass and for the first time everything plays together and it has THAT feel.

just listening to your track and thinking this is sweet

There are many stages I enjoy, probably all of them actually. But the most enjoyable parts for me, come from when I play around and find something that works brilliantly, but yet discovered pretty much by accident.

Posted by AirPole on Oct-08-2010 13:55:

Hmm... A few years ago, it was writing melodies and especially the main melody. But nowadays it seems I love programming drums the most, and also the tweaking. EQ' ing, screwing around etc. etc. But I still love writing melodies and riffs though!

A) When it's finished
B) At some point when i think " WOh WOh WOh this is getting better and better"

When my homies are like "dawg, this shit is tight yo" and I'm like "course it is nigga, shit" and then my nigga silz drops some rhymes on that shit and we all like "daaaaaammmmmmnnn"

that's my favorite part of making trance
