Nice one, will watch these tomorrow, he is one of my fav producers.

Posted by itsamemario on Oct-15-2010 04:16:

OMG! He uses premade loops? what a faker!!! and a poser!
i bet tiesto has never used a loop in his life, unlike this guy, d ramirez (havent ever heard about him lol, says much?)

and why did you post this on TA? eg TRAAAANCEEEE addict! Not fucking house addict! house and techno has never had anything to do with trance, and it never will!

Does it matter dude? If you can take a premade loop and turn it into an entire track that takes talent! And MANY dance music artists use premade loops to build a basis for their tracks. I don't personally because I feel like it's not my music, but I have nothing against them, heck, Steve Angello's KNAS is built almost entirely out of a Vengeance loop, but it's still a good track!

I know I'm new, but as far as I could tell, the production section isn't really genre specific..?

This is super interesting! I especially enjoy that he's using Logic, that's my DAW of choice too so it's neat to see other producer's workflows

No matter the genre, KNAS is about as talentless as you can get it.

Would you go into a piano store asking for guitar lessons? Exactly.

Ah, you're another Logic Fanboy. That explains it.

1. If you feel that way, that's fine But clearly, Steve Angello is a talented man.

2. What? I.... what? That doesn't even make any sense. That's not the same thing at all And most dance music fans like different genres of dance.

3. I... I don't get your point? Yes, I love Logic but that has nothing to do with... anything xD What does that explain?

Posted by Waza on Oct-15-2010 06:22:

So it's ok for Steve to use loops cause you think he's talented, but when someone who you don't know uses loops you think he has no talent.... hmmm strange

Hes not a faker, and doesnt always use premade loops. Yes he's a poser! i bet tiesto HAS used a loop in his life. Iv heard of him and seen him Dj.. Hes really good.

and i guess as its a production forum and this is a video on production, is the reason it was posted on here, very good imo..

Thanks to the OP for the vids

Posted by kevin shawn on Oct-15-2010 06:32:

2 things kids.

1 - Tiesto doesn't make music.

2 - Production videos, trance or house or hip hop, give insight into how others work and make this thing called music.

Posted by asdfg on Oct-15-2010 07:00:

didn't watch it for more than 3 minutes but I thought it was strange that he tends to mix all his tracks at around -10dbfs rather than just lower the master, afaik logic has non linear faders like most DAWs + needing that much headroom on a single kick channel is retarded.

What? I never said that, I said it's fine that D.Ramirez used a loop, I was defending him...

Posted by -FSP- on Oct-15-2010 07:18:

wow i can't believe you don't know how D.Ramierez is.

Posted by Raphie on Oct-15-2010 07:43:

Guy's let's keep this simple: If you think you can learn something from it, watch the video's

If you think you're way ahead of what he is discussing, stay away.
Not need to show off your primary school "piss on everything tedencies", we're all adults right? exactly EVERY discussion ending up in a cat fight, sucking your own ePenis is what fucking this forum up.

TS, Thanks for sharing and taking the effort! (as opposed to all dickheads here, that contribute shit and only moan.)

To be fair only one person was really complaining :P

I suppose one's enough though.

As mentioned this is a production forum, so its all about learning where ever the content comes from. Its not the 1st time video's that arent trance related have been posted here.

Dont you make house/tech/tribal/techno? So how can you say just cos its a trance forum this doesnt belong here? I would assume you would appreciate this more. As for not knowing who he is, he is a brilliant producer who has been around for some time and he doing very well right now, just cos you dont know someone doesnt mean they are no good.

Thanks for posting this up, especially about templates.

Few things I knew, few things I've learnt!

Alfi is trolling all of you. His post is laden with sarcasm so I'm quite surprised you guys can't see that. Where the hell is our mod anyway so he can tell people like that to fuck off and stop ruining threads.

I just watched the currently available videos. Quite enjoyed them and he seems like a fairly likeable character which always helps.

The things with "masterclass" videos is you go into them expecting to pick up a few tips and tricks, maybe learn some new technique and generally just find a bit of inspiration. Whether you like a particular artists tracks or not is largely irrelevant. It's about the production values, not about the end product. Plus it's always entertaining (at least for me) to watch other experienced producers in the studio, even if it is on a DAW that I don't use. They are practically all the bloody same anyway.

Cheers for the post
So there's 4 more parts to this? Really looking forward to it!

I also noticed some troll in that post. That said if true then he has way too much time on his hands, dont see why people bother.

Posted by tehlord on Oct-15-2010 11:21:

I watched them all last night and although I didn't learn anything new I think it's always useful to see somebody elses workflow.

And kudos to him for starting from scratch and going through the basics.

Posted by music2dance2 on Oct-15-2010 13:29:

Watched them this morning. Agreed with tehlord on back to basics style.
Look forward to the rest

If he's trolling he's a pretty boring troll hahahaha. I kind of thought he was trolling but it seemed like something too stupid to troll on about.

He's either a crappy troll or a joy kill, not sure I really prefer either xD

Also: I totally agree about how D.Ramirez is doing this from scratch, seeing how another producer works can always help you. Even if you NEVER touch the synthesizers they're using, just seeing how they mix something or how they toy with frequencies can help you improve

Posted by itsamemario on Oct-16-2010 01:37:

haha, just had to see how easy it was to rile you guys up :P alot easier than expected lol. i quite enjoyed the tutorials actually. wouldnt expecy anything else from d.ramirez!

[/sarcasm]

there you go! unicorns in the butt
