Coming into the mix under the encouragement and instruction of Dan Bell and Claude Young, Magda began djing in 1996 working her way through the underground party circuit, via promoters, such as: Syst3m, and joining the all female dj collective: Women on Wax, it was only a short while before she began appearing regularly at Detroit area events and clubs.
1999 saw Magda's initial forays into techno, electro and house evolve. Her dj sets were becoming increasingly minimal and the records in her box reflected a love of weird, challenging music. Invited by Richie Hawtin to open for him at his millennium celebration: Epok, Magda was entering a new phase in her career.

In the time since, Magda has expanded her work with Hawtin, becoming his sole choice to open many of his recent Detroit and international events, including: Jak DEMF weekend :[2001], Control. labor day weekend: [2001], as well as earning an envious position on the line up of "From Our Minds To Yours" the Plus 8 ten year anniversary party.

The next few months will see Magda going on her third european tour alongside Richie Hawtin and making the jump from dj to producer, releasing music under the moniker: Run/Stop Restore on the Minus label.

MARC HOULE (live)

Marc Houle grew up in Windsor, Canada with computer games on the brain, New Wave music in his ears, and Detroit as his back yard. Influenced early on by the synthesized sounds of Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk, his love for technology-tinted music was then supplemented in the early 90�s warehouse and clubs of Detroit with a first-class weekly education in Techno from the founders of the genre. In 1997 he began a residency at Richie Hawtin�s club �13 Below� where he hosted a New Wave night accompanied by classic video game consoles for the crowd. It was there that he met Minimal Techno�s first lady, Magda, who then became his lodger and studio companion.
It was during their years living together that she would insist to be given edits of his synth-laden productions to suit her own more minimal Techno tastes. Eventually Hawtin himself heard the stripped-down versions of Marc�s work and asked him to join the legendary Minus label.
Marc, apart from having the most recognizably retro sound on the label, may also be the most prolific of the crew, having produced thousands of songs in his career. This is also what makes Marc�s live sets so truly unique, with approximately half of all the music he plays being his own unreleased repertoire; no two sets could ever be the same, except in their ability to impress the crowd.

Hype material from my mission to see her in February....

8 hour plane + 6.5 hour train ride and completely worth it...

I lost it @ 2:15 when she drops Linkwood-Carbon Units, Centrum was going fucking bonkers.

WOW! Best Cobra booking yet imo!!

My 2nd techno wife played the best set at DEMF for me this year. It was slow, creepy, lots of bass. If she brings that again it'll be splendid.
