Gouryella Break-up
Hey guys maybe this is old news, but when I went to see Tiesto live here in DC, one guy there told me that Tiesto left Gouryella and that it was finished. He claimed that Tiesto said Corsten wasn't a team player and wouldn't let Tiesto give enough input on the tracks...
Can some one verify this for me, or (hopefully) disprove what I've said? Everything released by them is great, and anybody who knows anything about trance knows that Gouryella meant consistancy of the utmost quality.
Anyways, you all have my sympathies if this information is correct. If it was posted earlier on this site somewhere else, feel free to flame me to a chrisp.

as far as i know gouryella is ferry solo

heh...this is way old...but anyway, Gouryella's better off as Ferry solo!
Oh, and good to see another cheesehead on here, phyrest0rm!
So far I only know of 3 of us: You, Me, and uwmadtrance.

I read an interview a while back with Tiesto saying he was no longer part of Gouryella because he wasn't behind that sound anymore. I didn't hear anything about him no longer wanting to work with Ferry. Either way, this is old news.
DJ skaya..where the hell have u been for the last few months? under a rock??

ligaya is a real trance track; what the other productions werent!
lol! castrateur your gonna get flammed for that!!!
althought i agree that gouryella used to suck...
can't say that it wasn't real trance
Ligaya..bah-HAAH!
Nothing beats a classic such as Gouryella...Tenshi is right behind it. So brutha- SIT YO ASS DOWN!
tee-hee
Both are them are better off on their own. Maybe their egos couldn't get along. Anyways, "Walhalla" is the best track to date in my opinion.

i read in an interview somwhere, that tiesto was just too busy for gouryella. him and ferry are still good friends.
finally I've seen someone that has the same point of view than me.. Ligaya is better than the other Gouryella tracks. Not that they're bad! But I've never been too impressed with the old tracks. This one's got more energy and impressed me a lot from the first listening. Though all we heard is a radio rip and radio rips usually sound more energetic to me, dunno why.
And I've heard someone saying that Ferry was the one doing the most work on the old Gouryella's, so it's quite probable that Tiesto got mad for not having enough participation in the production.
and..... now you can call me SUPREME
my 200th post
EDIT: wtf.. I thought the user status was going to change.. is it at 250 post mark?
Ligaya sounds similar to other Gouryella tracks, which begs the question: what the hell did Tiesto contribute in the first place?
IMO, Gouryella is Ferry's attempt to reconcile electronic music with Bach. Tenshi was the best (one of the all-time best trance tracks)but Ligaya is fantastic as well.
I love all of Gouryella's tracks, including Ligaya. All of them are so amazing, the melodies so beautiful! Flutlicht is the only other group in which I love every single one of their productions.
Wow...I'm surprised that so many of you feel 'Ligaya' is better than the earlier Gouryella productions. 'Ligaya' IMO is just another Ferry Corsten track. It's similar to corsten's remix of 'adagio for strings'...big bassy buildup and then into the corsten style strings and you have an epic floorfiller. The original Gouryella productions were more unique and have something that 'Ligaya' doesn't. The originals are classics and you're not a true trance fan if you think 'Ligaya' beats them IMO.
Sorry, the thread was dying for this to be added

Welcome to 2002 mate
As for what's been said, I'm personally glad ferrys carried on without tiesto since Tiesto on his own i dont think how he's producing lately would bring the uplifting sounds that each & every gouryella release has
