Dave King - A Walk In The Fog [Prog/Psy]

You know the day after a big night out, you feel fragile but are ok because you're sat inside, hidden away. But it can't go on, there's no food in the house, or you have to collect your girlfriend from work, or maybe it's not even your house and you have to get back home. You are going to have to go outside and, god forbid, interact with the real world. To avoid this you need something to listen to, something that will suck you in enough to forget that you're out of the house. Not too crazy, you can't deal with that, but energetic enough to help you complete whatever mission you are on. That's what I've tried to do with this mix.

Now I know that might sound a bit pretentious but I'm hoping the idea might resonate with a few people. The mix wasn't meticulously planned, I just started out with the idea in my head (and a massive hangover) and put these tracks together. Now I'm not sure if it hits my initial concept 100% and the perfectionist in me wants to go back to the drawing board and start again. However, I have come to the conclusion that I should tell the perfectionist in me to fuck off a little bit and share some more stuff haha

Killer set, dude. Some stompers, some anthems, and lots of trance. I liked the breaky tracks in there too, as well as the way it ended. Flow was fine, from the harder tracks to the hands-in-the-air tracks. Mixing was good with the exception of one transition where the incoming kicks were going during the breakdown (happens to me all the time ) and one where the beatmatching was slightly off. My left ear in my headphones died, so I only got to listen to half the set with both ears. I will try to find some time to listen again, as I thought it was a real proper set. Nice job.

Cheers to all for the kind comments, much appreciated.

ziptnf: I was hoping no one would notice the percussion over the breakdown (I assume you were talking about the first transition), damn haha

montana: I think this is the third mix Ive finished with a MWNN remix, he made a load of good closers!

This is a phenominal mix - I've never herd a combination of breaks, prog psy and trance done before and this was so fluid and professional. The transition into Dieing Isis was superb!

I've sent you a PM re playing at my night - please let me know what you think.

Cheers,
Jon
