Solid Sleep - Club Attack --> Lead Synth????

Fellow TranceAddicts,

When I say Solid Sleep - Club Attack, I think everyone here knows what track I'm talking about. It's still one of my favorite trance tracks to have ever been produced. However for years now I've been trying to find out how the lead sound was actually made. It's not your typical saw or square lead, and I just don't know what it is, or how to create it. Does anyone have the slightest idea?? I'm sure it's layered, but I don't know what sounds were used. It's such an original and awesome sound!

Just to be sure, here's a video to refresh your memory: the lead starts at 0:41 seconds.

I've tried to replicate this a couple of times and I've totally failed

If you ask Mr. JBJ really nicely, he might accept the challenge of recreating it. I can vouch for his talent in recreating sounds.

Also, just to mention, I think the synth sound you can hear at the beginning of that clip (during the first 3 seconds) is one of the most amazing and most definitive sounds in trance music, in my opinion obviously.

Love Poundin' Sensation

I agree man. That little riff is one of the best ever. Hah, makes me wannna get into discussions about old trance music from back in the day. Things were way more simple back then. I will never forget the old trance music.

song sucks, shouldn't even bother recreating its lead

Not a secret, this is a tipical Roland voice stack/lead sound. I remember something like this in the Techno expansion board from JV/XP series but I'm not sure. He's moving the cuttof and reso....

Maybe you can find this sound in the new Roland synths since they have almost all the old series samples "hidden" in rom memory...

Jep, Roland sound - you can find it on the roland JX305. Used to have one, but sold it.

There are sample CDs around which got the Presetes sampeled down.
Sounds are the same like on the 505 groovebox

So, it would be very hard to recreate it with Sylenth wouldn't it? Thanks for the replies guys! Awesome.

Well, I got the Sylenth too and it is basically my main synth but for such a sound I would prefer the gladiator, but I didn't create so many sounds on that synth yet. But you got more possibilities.

If you get such a sound on the sylenth please share it
