Studio Desk(Furniture)

Looking for a new desk folks, i can get a KK Audio A1 Edit for a good price but dont want to jump straight in. If anyone can help me out with similar designs/sizes that would be great, i need to find something that i wont want to change for a while(if ever). Dont really want anything bigger than this one but need 4-8U of rack space

thanks in advance peeps

I've had my RTA Creation Station for years and it's been a pretty solid desk for me.

Was looking at those earlier Dave, might need a little more space than that

Maybe just customize a flatpack with some 8u racks then?

I've always thought that dedicated furtniture was way overpriced.

Saying that the one that Dave linked to is dirt cheap, as long as it's deep enough for a MIDI controller and computer keyboard.

There's its bigger brother, the Producer Station:

Have you looked at the Omnirax stuff? They're priced more along the line of the KK Audio stuff and they're definitely better built than the RTA stuff. This one might be similar to what you're looking for:

I have this desk and I don't like it. The desk is too low and the shelf is too high. I have to keep looking up to see the monitors which makes my neck hurt. I ended up modifying it big time, but even then, I'm still unhappy.

That's a good point. I have my computer monitors on a different desk (at eye level) rather than on the Studio RTA desk, but I could see how having them up that high on this desk would be a pain in the neck (pun intended).

Old fruit? Hey, I might not be the youngest dude here, but I'm quite secure in my heterosexuality.

Just remove the top shelf. I bought the Producer station but I didn't install the top shelf because I hate looking up at my monitors. The result is a nice desk with rack space and plenty of desktop room.

I did that. I removed it and put blocks on the floor to raise the whole thing. The Creation Station desk is actually lower than the producer station. The producer station is NICE and I wanted one, but it don't fit in my room.

Yeah, the Studio RTA stuff is pretty good for the price. At this price level not everything is going to be perfect so i guess you take the good with the bad.

Personally, I've been looking at moving to an Argosy or a Sterling Modular for some time now, but its really expensive.

I also have the RTA creation station but I don't own any hardware. Empty racks look so lonely

There is a bit of paneling on the bottom, where my feet go that is coming off but I've used some black duct tape to fix that other than that his has been a solid desk.
