Hello! New Movie - "Ecstacy"

Just got this in my inbox:

NEW MOVIE "Ecstasy" FEATURING TOP DJs AND PRODUCERS

The intoxicating house music in the new Canadian film "Ecstasy" directed by Lux, featuring Charlie Bewley of Twilight and Gillian Zinser of 90210 is as addictive as the mysterious party drug in the story.

The movie soundtrack's first single, "Back to Life" by the lead supporting actress, Elisa King, is an ethereal anthem that's worthy of Miami and Ibiza opening parties. The stunning Pete Hook remix of Joy Division's "Love will tear us apart" in the opening scene of the movie preface a fantastic string of dance hits in this 93 minutes thriller.

This psychological mind bender, set in a peaceful college community where four school girls are addicted to a red pill of unknown origin, is bound for a cult following with music from "All Gone Pete Tong" producer, Nick Husseyof Mad Hatter Recordings from Manchester, UK. Roger Shah, Zara Taylor, Mark Mendes and Lazy Richrounds up the impressive roster of house music talent for this "must own" movie soundtrack.

Seems the Canadians know a thing or two about marrying hot tracks with an edgy story that will leave you wanting more long after the pumping end credits music fades.

Yeah, heard about this a while ago. Synopsis ("A single church-going mother desperately tries to save her two daughters from walking down the same dark path she was once on; and a young woman fights against addiction to a mysterious party drug.") makes it sound like yet another anti-drug movie that's most likely going to have the exact opposite of its intended effect on the young audience that will be watching it.

Although on the other hand, it's probably fairly realistic, considering that most of today's "ecstasy" doesn't contain any actual mdma.

coming out when? where?

Yes, another reason why we have to point out that pills are associated with the edm scene.

lets throw coke and heroin as well.

that trailer looks too stereotypical.

You're right, they should do a movie about this scene without pills

Posted by Special K on Nov-10-2010 23:57:

This movie will probably be lame.

I think we all know that the best movies on our "scene" are the ones that celebrate & glorify drugs, not ones that villify them.

When isn't stuff like this stereotypical? lol I remember the episode of the original 90210 when they went to a rave and the dealer at the rave wore a shirt with a giant E on it.

Or in the movie Formula 51 where this guy just throws a bunch of blue pills up in the air in the middle of the dance floor.

Sounds dumb.

I think I'll just watch Groove and Go again instead.

Not sure about the movie, but I want to check out the soundtrack. I'm diggin' the track in the trailer.

ya there needs to be a movie about g and everyone g'ing out.

and then have everyone sit in the g-out room at zone.

hmmm that would be a good intro do a movie titled 'g'ed out'.

a person wakes up in an afterhours club with flashing lights, electronic music pumping and has no idea where he is, but is surrounded by, not dead, but g'ed out goers just like him.

almost like how alice woke up in resident evil but not in a hospital.
