How much difference will the amp make to the sound quality? Meaning can i go out an by the cheapest? Any suggestions?

unless you are spending over 2000, not a whole lot. Room > Treatment > monitors > AD DA conversion > what ever boutique compressor/preamp you think will make your shit sizzle.

Laptop and monitors?! I have a budget setup and originally had a spare amp lying around which is dead now. Am i missing something?
