Recommend me albums please
I've started buying CD albums again recently because I decided that I still want to have a physical
connection with the music that I love. I don't want my collection to be entirely made up of MP3 files
and as I don't own a turn table, I figured this is a great way to do so. I'm interested in any kind
of electronica, doesn't have to have any beats or necessarily a 4/4 beat and definitely nothing club-
oriented. The last two CDs I bought were John Roberts' Glass Eights on Dial and Sebastian Mullaert's
mixcomp Wa Wu We on Mule Musiq. Currently I have Ostgut Ton's Funf compilation and (finally) Pulshar's
ablum on Desolat, titled Inside. I'm gonna pick them up when they're in stock next Thursday, and was hoping
to maybe pick up one or two more at the same time. So I was wondering if any of you have any recommendations.
To help you make recommendations, it'd be great if you had a look at the store's website in order to
have an idea of what they are currently carrying: http://www.atomheart.ca/
Thanks!

My most recent purchases, 5 albums, 5 different styles but I highly recommend all of them:
Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest
Darkstar - North
Baths - Cerulean
Arandel - In D
Susumu Yokota - Kaleidoscope
My top albums of 2010 that you can buy on CD:
Antibreak - Eleven Shades Of Night
Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma
Clubroot - MMXII
Ikonika - Contact Want Love Have
Autechre - Oversteps
Thanks. I'm familiar with some of those but not all. I'll check out the samples. Last I recall Ikonika wasn't really my thing, but I may be thinking of another dubstep producer.
Keep em coming folks.
Didn't really understand that site but this is some of my favourite albums from 2010:
ASC - Nothing Is Certain
Shed - The Traveller
DeepChord Presents Echospace - Liumin
Mount Kimbie - Crooks & Lovers
Actress - Splazsh
I still need to get hold of the new Echospace album. I didn't have any money when it came out and as soon as I looked to buy it, it was unavailable.

| Originally posted by Lews After hearing the samples of Eleven Shades of Night, I just put in an order for it online. Hopefully it'll be here soon, it sounded fantastic. Think I'm going to buy MMXII and Oversteps as well, though not positive about those. Need to see how much money I have. |
I checked out the samples of the Autechre and the Antibreak albums but they don't really seem to be my thing. The Clubroot album sounds pretty interesting though. Do you know where I can find more samples? Bookmat only has samples for 3 tracks.

Forgot about this. Anyway, I should have probably mentioned in my first post that I don't want anything glitchy or too electronic. I know I said "electronic albums" but I wasn't thinking it through. Basically though, I want anything that's sort of organic-sounding and not too challenging for the ears. For example. I don't know if you listened to the new John Roberts album, but it has a lot of these little dusty needle and tape sounds and I really like them. Ben Klock's album that I bought last year also had that. But both have very clean production at the same time which I appreciate. Nothing heavy. I guess I should have mentioned that I'm preferably after house, techno and dubstep/future garage. Actually thinking of getting the new Punch Drunk compilation since I missed out on most of those releases when they originally came out.
Basically though, I'm just anything deep, euphoric, lush, loungy, etc...I mean your recommendations, for the most part, were not for me, but I still appreciated them nonetheless.
