Sebastien Leger making fun of dubstep is better than dubstep.

Not really.

My favorite part is 1:50ish when it looks like he's passed out

My cousin taking the piss out of dubstep is significantly more hilarious.

what's that law that says it's impossible to distinguish a parody from the real thing because both are equally ridiculous?

Posted by alphazipbo on Nov-13-2010 00:54:

Too much

Almost got in trouble at work at this hilarity!

When it comes to soulful dubstep, here's the tune of the moment:

Needs more wobble.

Posted by Settimo on Nov-13-2010 07:45:

stop fucking talking shit on dubstep, it's some of the most innovative and original music i've heard in years...seriously. you just need to find the good stuff that doesn't sound like death...

Did you not listen to a single word anyone said in your last stupid "dubstep sucks" thread? Dubstep can be any music that:

1. Is around 140bpm
2. Has 2-step rhythms
3. Uses half/double time tempo dynamics.

You'd appreciate why this sets dubstep apart from other genres if you'd ever set foot on a dancefloor and ever danced to any of the music you chat shit about.

I think a much better description would be:

1. It has huge amounts of subbass

I don't think BPM is a characteristic. There are many, many tracks that are not in the 140 range. And people are toying around a lot with different rythm patterns even though it's often hard to classify those things as Dubstep or not. But the bass is really what keeps the genre together hence why many people simply call it "bass music".

The sad thing is... with some better production in the non-wobble parts this track could actually get in the Beatport Dubstep top 10 chart or something ridiculous like that.

"Bass music" doesn't just refer to dubstep, you know. It includes jungle, dub, 2-step and other urban British-Caribbean styles. And an increasing amount of dubstep doesn't use much or any sub-bass, just as it isn't all at 140bpm.

Looks like it was a white label, only pressed 500 times. I could only find one copy for sale on the internet and for like $100. Shame, because that song was fucking wicked.

Posted by enydo on Nov-14-2010 00:26:

Oh wowwwwww. Shit.
