Talking DJ Rush - Live at Mothership (05-10-02)

... Comments ...

Angry argh!

i guess technoaddict.com wasn't an april fool's joke.

i feel like i've been visiting a site with hot blonde lesbians and now there's some gay porn ...

Posted by InfiniteSquare on Aug-02-2002 20:12:

I agree, what the hell is this set.

Techno sucks.

Swamper, you don't post good trance sets anymore, and there are tonz out!

Why?

Posted by DynaFire on Aug-03-2002 02:53:

Don't be harsh to swamp, i haven't heard the set yet but i'm just about to download it, and i'm really happy to hear that there is a set up that swamper likes but knows none of the tracks from, really suggests that i'll here something different. The site isn't titled pvdaddict.com after all! Keep up with the variation swamper!

Please never forget what the R in P.L.U.R. stands for ... Respect. Techno is a valid genre of electronic music, maybe you don't enjoy it but please don't hate it, some other people like techno and has a great time with it.

I don't have a prefered genre, I enjoy house as much as trance and techno, I'm more open and therefore I have always have a great time in all parties no matter what the DJ is playing.

PD: I live in the technoest city in South America: Medellin, Colombia. People here only likes techno and nothing else.

you seem to be forgetting that this is tranceaddict.com!
this set does not belong here. in fact, i can't remember if i ever saw a trance set at a techno site.

i don't. i never visit parties with music i don't like.

well, i live in croatia where the parties are techhouse and techno. no trance parties at all. no drum'n'bass parties.
there are some underground gabber parties once in a while, and since that's really my preferred music i visit them and have mad 220 BPM fun

Posted by Swamper on Aug-05-2002 18:55:

I specified it was Techno in the description, if you don't like Techno, don't download it.

Stop being closed minded to other genres, eesh.

but WHY is this HERE?

there's plenty of sites with techno music out there. do you see them host, for example, PvD sets? no.

i don't mind techno. i mind techno at tranceaddict.com. what's next, house sets? i like house, but this is not the place for it. i also like IDM, but will throw up if you put autechre or aphex twin online

besides, techno lovers will take every opportunity to bash trance, while trancers respect the opinion of others. well, almost. if i went to a trance party and the DJ started playing some schranz, i'd pick up the first drugged 14-year-old kid and swing it at him, aiming for the head

Posted by Swamper on Aug-05-2002 21:12:

Over the years there have been plenty of Techno livesets posted online, some much harder than this one (a la Sven Vath style from late 2000)

Seeing as how 95% of the music on here is Trance it doesn't make much of a difference if the odd track/set from another genre makes its way in

Posted by Meniphesto on Aug-05-2002 23:22:

In my personal opinion I prefer Trance over Techno but I'm am not going to talk sh*t on Techno, respect Techno for what it is. I haven't downloaded the set nor am I going to download the set. As far as for Swamper posting this set let him post whatever he wants, don't bash him for something that he posted. You should be glad you can even come to this dope ass Web site and download some dope ass Trance.

Well, I personally love this set. You people that posted negative stuff on it should be ashamed. Electronic music is about open mindeness, you sound like those rock and roll guys with mullets that only listen to Heavy metal cause it's the only music that is good.

I know personally, and probably swamper too, is that people like a bit of change now and then. That's what so great about trance/Techno, mostly all electronic music, is that there is new stuff all the time coming out, so you never get bored with it.

It's good to listen to for a change, and for some funkiness, plus, Trance/Techno are basically the same....one compliments the other. One just uses more bass and funky sounds, well the other uses Catchy riffs and build ups....Anyway you like it, it's meant to make ya groove...

too bad this is a crap recording and there ISNT any bass. dont get me wrong though, techno is my fav. it is, after all, where all your other electronic genres come from, so why hate on it people? techno with no bass is just crap, though

Posted by hapamoto on Aug-10-2002 09:16:

well something must be wrong w/ my connection becuase i have tried to d/l this set twice each time i only get 10mins of it.. but from what i can hear, its pretty bangin', i love that style (didn't consider it techno) but i guess my idea of techno was a little different.. anyway, this set seems like it will rock and you people shouldn't have d/l it if you hate techno.. i mean c'mon, do you complain everytime a set is posted up of a dj that you hate? sheesh, to each his own

Posted by Dj-HordasH on Aug-13-2002 17:46:

Another vote of confidence for swamper; disregard the negative comments and continue with the good work

Some change once in a while is very welcome, its not one of the greatest techno sets ever but Im enjoying it very much. DJ Rush doesnt do the kind of stuff that youd listen to everyday continuously but I like to pop in his stuff once in a while to get me awake, some more bass would be more than welcome but then it wouldnt be DJ Rush

Swamper, how about Commander Tom @ wemf 2002 for the next techno set ?

how about an asian dub foundation live performance? or dj tense & dj deadnoize live @ frankfurt? where's the limit? WHAT's the limit?

and who the hell is commander tom? i've never heard of him, and i've heard my share of techno sets and DJ's. if he plays techno, he then plays "techno", as in viva/MTV techno.

Posted by DynaFire on Aug-14-2002 03:49:

I've never heard of commander tom either, but for me really thats more reason for me to here it, just cos it isn't paul van dyk doesn't mean it's not trance. Same with techno, it might not be jeff mills but could be very cool anyway.

Well, Commander Tom is one of the pioneers of hard/acid/trance/techno. He was very popular in mid 90s but he didn/t go mainstream as many of the other German hard trancers went....

Well, nice to see a Croatian guy on the boards

That's exactly my point, that's why I love electronic music and I'm part of the electronic scene, because unlike other people like rockers who waste their times getting mad and talking s$%#! (and even figth, I've seen punkers and heavy metallers punch each other just because of that) about other genres of rock, in electronic music we respect all types of genres, we accept all kinds of styles as part of a more open and tolerant community.

And why is it in tranceaddict ?? because this site is part of the electronic community and therefore as any dj would do or as any club owner would do or as any guy or girl who's throwing a party would do: it wouldn't mind if it's house or trance or techno or whatever, as long as everybody is having a great time then ...

IT DOESN'T MATTER !!! (as that Clamaran song says)

It's essential ... respect and tolerance .. it's unique in us .. please feel free to be like that !!

What are you talking about dude I listen to as much as Heavy Metal as I do Trance so when you say I am wasting my time listen to that type of music getting mad and kicking each others ass. Thats just a stereotype you put on people who listen to that type of music. Know what your talking about before you make a judgement.

GREAT set swamper. I love it. It's nice to change it up every once and a while.

d_sub: get a life dude. I can't stand people who bitch about being able to download music FOR FREE due to the work of other people (!!!) and because its not their particular style they complain and harass the webmaster.. and if you've never heard of commander tom, you need to stop listening to your 'Let's get this party started ' remixes..

1) it's not free. tranceaddict.com has banners and ads. believe it or not, i click on them every time to support the site, and i'm here at least twice a day. if clicking on the "featured CD" brings even as low as $0.05, i'm giving swamper more than $3 per month. not much, but i bet it's a lot more than you do, which gives a nice perspective on the bitching thing you mentioned above.

2) i've already explained my position: this is TRANCEaddict.com, not technoaddict.com. putting techno sets online is a complete waste when you can get them from other places (which, and i'm repeating myself again, don't EVER host trance). i don't have anything against techno in general, but i have against techno right here.

3) commander tom isn't THAT known. when he played whatever he played i was listening to gabber (and i still do - the only acceptable "let's get this party started" would be a 220 BPM variant). in 1996 i started listening to goa and later on psychedelic trance. drum'n'bass came into my life somewhere around early 1998 (unfortunately) and for the last couple of years i've been into orchestral jazz. cheese is not my preferred type of music, believe me.

4) since we're into "you've never heard of...", what can you tell me about juan atkins?

can we drop this whole thing now?
