Review: Lee Burridge @ Footwork

Wow
Oh yes indeed.
Just found a lot of overlap between his set today and this set he played recently
Lee Burridge - Robot Heart, Burning Man 2010 by nightclubber.ro
I really, REALLY didn't like him.... I had the same feelings as last time.
This has nothing to do with his ability - I was amazed with much of his mixing and technical abilities - but with personal taste...
I found the energy levels completely jumping around. It was like ...blah blah blah (boring) DANCE WOOT YAY blah blah blah (boring) DANCE WOOT YAY blah blah blah (boring) DANCE WOOT YAY ....
While I did start to enjoy is a bit more after 3am, at that point my energy level was dead, I was hungry, and it still didn't blow me away. While the argument was made that 'Lee saves the best for last' I personally feel that I shouldn't have to be bored for half of an extended set.
I also found the crowd as boring, creepy, smelly, and strange as the fist time I saw him (of course there were a few pockets of sunshine found throughout the floor).
The sound was overbearing in the front half of the club. So bassy. Really made me regret loosing my earplugs on halloween.
On the plus side - I did really enjoy the installation on the ceiling, Jeff Buttons set was deep and sexy, and the staff from guest list, to bouncers, to bartenders, washroom attendant, coat check, etc was exceptionally awesome and reminded me why I use to frequent FW so regularly.
All in all, I met some great people, had a bit of fun, but Lee Burridge is just not my type of DJ.
Glad you all enjoyed.
Great night, no complaints. Rather, I could complain about some stuff, but what would be the point? The good outweighed any bad so whatever. And I thought the "strange" crowd was great. I talked to a lot of new/funny/interesting people (plus hot chicks) who were all very nice. Didn't really find anyone to be rude or pushy so I'm not really sure where the boring and creepy part comes into play. I look through a different lens I guess, lol. I always love the people that come out to Lee jams.
But yeah, I had fun. My friends had fun. My bum and thighs are sore, and I came home with sweat soaked clothes. Evidence of a job well done. Weeeeeeeeeeee!

Oh Neek!
Yeah I agree - lots of really hot girls which was a nice change from the sausage fest the night before.
I dont know. I think I had a sign on me saying 'creepers please come try to talk me' - plus one girl who kept trying to massage me and touch my hair
Oh oh!! Omg seeing Pete totally made my night. What an awesome surprise. I love you Petie!! So glad you made it!

I had a great night, it was nice and fulfilling to say the least.
Tara, you're right the energy level was wonky from time to time, but I figured that's just Lee Burridge doing crazy things hahah.

I'm so glad John took a picture BEFORE I got all sweaty. I must say, my makeup looks great! Lololol.
