Where To Buy Gear?
Just wondering, when you all buy gear, do you typically buy it 2nd hand off ebay or craigslist or a forum, or do you buy it brand new, and if so what site have you found to be best.
I started out buying cheap, because I didn't know how far I'd wanna take my hobby. Of course I moved up to more expensive equipment after
eBay, zzounds, and musician's friend are pretty decent for me.
new at local store.
i like my gear cheap and 3rd hand from ebay or other sellers who want western union only so i get scamed
Guitar Center and ask for a discount!

Agiprodj.com for new stuff.
Great service and way cheaper than any of the websites already listed.

PSSL.com or sometimes ebay. Most of my gear like my sound system, was pulled out of my studio, and out of racks I used to tour with.
The flag under your name said you were from Australia so...
I got my first stuff from:
http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/
The shipping time was about 48 hours from Melbourne to Byron bay where I lived at the time so I was pretty impressed. They were helpful over the phone with advice and quick to respond to any questions I send via email. The first set of headphones I got from them were broken in shipping and getting a replacement was really easy. Now though I live in Brisbane so I shop at:
http://www.storedj.com.au/
That being said, I go into the store and don't order from them online, I like being able to look at and handle stuff before I buy it.
I've never bought from overseas when it comes to DJ gear and I've not bought 2nd hand stuff so I can't really offer anything there but I've had good experiences with the two places above.
ive bought alot of shit from ebay both new and second hand.
been shopping on djdeals and audiomidi alot too, and analoguehaven. never had any problems just make sure you always use paypal!
sweetwater.com
Thus far I have bought all my gear new at Guitar Center or Sam Ash.
I'm curious, how many of you who buy their gear used on eBay, Craig's List, etc... have had a major problem with it within a short period of time (say, a couple months) after purchase?
i bought something from ebay and it broke a week later without touching it
I hate 2nd hand
i love second hand. buy cheap and sell for a little more. make it possible to try all the gear out there. i sold everything though.
there was a 15% off coupon for guitar center the other day. I got my mixer for $150 off, which is better than any other store could have done.
but, agiprodj is top notch.
