Resident Evil DVD Director's Cut

The DVD came out yesterday but I didn't get it because I heard that they are coming out with a 2 disc director's cut soon. Does anyone have the release date for it?

It's a good movie in my opinion. Maybe im being bias since i love the video game so much. But the movie could've been better. That is why I have high hopes for the second one.

The DVD special features are pretty bland. Commentary, 5 featurette which were boring, and a music video by Slipknot. (I hate these guys)

Well I haven't heard of this one...but I will look into it. I was planning on buying the DVD tomorrow but if there is going to be a director's cut version of it I will wait.

yeah the movie wasn't all that really. but im still getting it since im a huge fan of the video game.

i just thought it was one of those movies that deserved a more jam packed dvd than it has right now. i hate it when they do that. they take advantage of the DVD stuff. come out with a special edition, then a month later they come out with a special 2 disc editon, then 2 months later a director's 3 disc edition criterion collection blab bla bla,

for example "pearl harbor" came out with 4 or 5 editions which i think is just too ridiculous. "lords of the rings" doing the same. both of these movies i don't care about but you see what i mean

Yes there is a Director's Cut of RE coming out soon. I bought my copy of the regular release today though...couldn't pass it up. I walked into my local Circuit City and saw it for $15! That's cheap as hell for a DVD that just released this week And next week I'll probably buy Lord of the Rings *starting to become a DVD addict*

IT SOME CASES I AGREE WITH YOU, BUT FOR LOTR, THE DVD'S WILL BE COMPLETEY DIFFERENT, ONE HAS THE THEATRICAL RELEASE AND THE OTHER IN NOV, WIL BE THE EXTENDED ONE. EVEN THE EXTRAS ARE DIFFERENT ON BOTH DISCS, SO ITS NOT LIKE YOUR BUYING THE SAME DISCS AGAIN, LIKE THE MUMMY OR AMERCAN PIE

AS FOR RESIDENT EVIL, I THOUGHT IT WAS REALLY GOOD IT STUCK TO THE VIDEO GAME STORY AND THE ENDING WAS COOL

I personally think the movie was pure shite

The games are great, but the movie had no plot, dated sfx and crap acting. Ms Jovovich was the only thing that made it livable.

Game cross-overs never work (think Streetfighter, Double Dragon, Mario Brothers, etc.)

The first Mortal Kombat was ok, the second sucked.
Final Fantasy was wonderful eye-candy, but the plot and acting was terrible.

I wish they'd stop trying to cash in on that aspect.
They know that fans of the game will flock to the movie

no problem,

the aug 6 release has 2 discs, 1 has the theatrical release and on the other disc a bunch of extras, commentaries and so forth

the release in nov, has 4 discs, 1 disc has the movie with 30 to 45 minutes of deleted scenes added to it, but in this et you dont get the original theatrical release, just the version with the new scenes, the other 3 discs, have more extra, but different extras from the one you would get on aug 6.
