-- my mark3s have arrived!
my mark3s have arrived!
just a quick note to say i paid of my last installment in my 1210mk3s ! and just took them home a few hours ago! im at tafe atm but i got to play around on em for about an hour before i left! they rock! i cant wait to get home! (Just got cura me, for an angel and age of love too) so i cant wait to mix them in rah! i love it! i just have a few queries... i had old old old 1200's mark2s before i had the pitches replaced on them straight away because they needed it but i was just wondering on average how long would it be until you would need to replace the pitch (new ones) like how much use would you get out of them? (not that im planning to or anything i mean i only used them for about 15 mins!
) but just curious... and where abouts is the stylus holder
? isnt mark3s meant to have a stylus holder
? i only see that big ass hole thing for old records in the top left...
they look cool with the black/red light combo!
and umm last thing (i got stanton 500 ALII carts) i was wondering the correct hight and weight for them (even though the dude at the store set em all up for me) they are currently on 0 weight (the 0 point has been found) but there is a 4g weight on top of each headshell its like a metal circle like a fat coin... havent seen that before but is that a substitute for increasing the weight normally (on the ring) anyway with those weights off what should the correct setting be?
THANKYOU
sorry i know thats alot to swallow!
i need to go home to practice...

now i need a vestax pcv 275
i hate my mixer

on the back of the tonearm, there should be a thread (like a screw thread) in the back of the tonearm... here you can install an extra (auxilary) weight - this should have come with your M3Ds - install it, so you can properly balance the cartridge with the extra weight on the headshell |
? anyway with that weight on there and set to 2 or (i have around 1 - 1.5) whatever wouldnt the extra 4g on the headshell really wear out the vinyl?
well, there's the weight, that you turn with the numbers...
then there is a small addon weight that threads into the back of the tonearm. look at page 5 of the manual, bottom of figure 3, item "e"... if you got manuals with your decks.
the idea of that is to balance out the extra weight of the headshell weight. the manual specifies for carts between 10 and 13 grams, to use the weight.. generally, i use the weight on the end if there is a weight on the headshell... makes the main weight tend to balance more towards the center of it's travel range which i see as a good thing...
