House tracks: What kind of synth or effect is this?

Dumb question I know, but I'm curious.. what kind of synth or effect is this? It's like a "wah-wah" type effect found in lot of deep house/chillout music.

For an example, click here and listen to the "Foulchette" track. Start it at the very middle of it.

And here's one of my favorite tracks with the cool effect, it literally starts right at the beginning:



It's cheesy, yeah, yeah, but I just think it's so smooth, I love it.

Filter oscillation.

Hmmm.. there we go, thanks.

Was gonna say, if anyone knows any other artists or tracks that use this effect a lot, please post vids or name some names. Much appreciated.
