Logic

Posted by Zak McKracken on Nov-22-2010 20:32:

man that dudes music is only getting worse and worse.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Nov-22-2010 20:43:

his poses are getting quite good tho. I can't imagine the frustrating hours meticulously adjusting his body with a mirror aid. I bet he has a 3d video capture system that analyzes the limb placement to make his poses flawless. And all the time spent watching Passion of the Christ and other JC flicks. He should develop a harness where mid show during some intense build, he is raised from the ground on a giant glow stick cross that shoots lazer beams. God is a dj, and by the transverse properties of the nonsensical catholic trinity, god is AVB and the proof can be seen at 45 minutes into the set when the super cross rises and the trance music is god talking that is of course if you're high. Otherwise I suppose you are trying to put a roofie in the gogo girls drink.

yep crap tune and logic pro was the daw in question

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Nov-22-2010 22:48:

thought the tune was pretty good.I liked the doubling of the lead and the old school double bass pattern. Uses the same progression as Angel's Return but oh well.

Quit hatin, let him enjoy being the current hotness. Someone will replace him soon enough.

NL3 right in front. Good choice.

Posted by johncannons1 on Nov-23-2010 00:53:

AVB is an amazing asset to EDM. I think jealousy is a common cause of hatin on him. He makes music people want to listen to.Hes at the top hes been there for years - He may even stay there for longer. Voted number 1 - 4th year running I dont think that has happened before. He doesnt lie about using an engineer when he produces hes quite open about it on all his interviews. UNLIKE a lot of other big name producers.
I say GO AVB!

and yes vickernes is right logic.

Horrible song, I understand its in mono but wheres the reverb?

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Nov-23-2010 03:19:

it is a low quality mp3 and the reverb is probably where it belongs in the 80s.

Posted by vikernes on Nov-23-2010 03:29:

First time I heard the song I thought it sounded like some bedroom producer from some FL forum threw that together in like 2 days or something. It sounds very unpolished and "empty" and "cold", but I think this is exactly what he wanted to make. Kinda old skool vibe I guess.

The only thing I like about the song is the fact that it was released as the first single from Mirage. He explained in an interview basically that he released that track to show people he hasn't sold out and knows where he's coming from. I kinda dig that. Would love to see the reaction of those 14 year old "Armin 4eva, lololo!!11" fanboys when they first heard this

Since this is a production forum -> I dislike the mix on that track. Where is the fucking bass? I'm so sick of these Gaia/Gareth Emery treble kicks... Fucking sounds like it was high passed at 100Hz and high shelf boosted to 6db...

edit: I don't know if you guys know this, but he actually used v-station for the lead.

/cool story bro

Lmao, funny shit.

Is it just me or does he look like he's either hung over really bad and hasnt slept in 2 days, or is he wearing some kind of face darkening make-up right at the beginning of the video...???

Also, what's with the white shirts? You'd think with all his money he could afford to buy more than 1 color.

Thread is brimming with win, but this takes the blue ribbon with honorable mention going to Mr. Cannons.

GO Armin!

After seeing him play circa 2002-2003 I have to disagree with you.

His new stuff has gone to shit.

as a dj. you always want to wear white. It is just easier to see and you might just glow if there is black light around which is super fun. He does look quite douchy tho.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Nov-23-2010 15:56:

my god there are some worthless people here.

Posted by Richard Butler on Nov-23-2010 17:23:

It does'nt need reverb - the track is punchy and what the masses can easily engage with. Some producers make the equivolent of French film Noire - loads of creditibility with the beautiful people, but fuckshit boring to the masses.

This track is easy, punchy, catchy - everything you want for a bit of fun.

Posted by johncannons1 on Nov-24-2010 05:45:

hahaha

well. First time i heard his tunes was around 04-05. First time i saw him was in march 2006(as i wasnt 18 till then) i was hooked straight away.
Agreed some of his new tunes are questionable but i still think most of his new tunes are good. Take Imagine for eg.. there is some real nice sounding music on that album.

To me it looks like a tribute to the great electronic musicians of the 70's, like Jean Michel Jarre, Klaus Schulze etc. Try to find some live footage from these days and you'll probably come across that white shirt.

Here's an example:

Anyways, I think it doesn't help if we keep grumping about how Armin is ruining the scene. If you don't like what he plays and produce, send some sort of message to him. Handwritten letters through snail mail is the best way to get his attention and response.

Posted by Andy28 on Nov-24-2010 19:59:

What's with all the hate for Armin? Is it because he is successful?
I just don't get it.
