Dj Decks Recording

Hieellou guys!!!

well i use Dj Decks with an sl1200 mk2 and i was recording my mixes fine with 'audacity' but then it suddenly stopped working.Like that.Like these loveable computer problems when one second ago its workin fine and then BAM,gone. Now after plugging out and in lots of cables(so essentially doing nothing) it started working again, as in, it records but with extreem distortion and way to loud anyways. Ima give you my hardware quickly so you know whats inn here, i got a Numark DM2050 mixer, the Synchroscience Conectiv sound card from M audio. The way i record is ive got a cable going from the computer soundcard recording 'hole' into the dm2050 recording hole, and ofcourse in windows configured it that way, while everything but the recording i have the conectiv card controlling it. I tested with another recording program and same problem, any ideas what the problem might be???

Difficult to say, really...

Broken audio jack(s) or cable might be one reason. Do all other sounds play normally?

Your English is really bad, but from what I can make out, it sounds like your line-in in the windows built-in mixer is turned up too loud. If that doesn't solve your problem, then I recommend re-checking your Numark faders and gain knobs, and also checking all of the gain knobs on your Conectiv Card. You shouldn't have anything turned up past 3/4 of the way towards full. Anything flashing red indicates clipping and distortion.

To me it sounds like you've plugged the cable in the mic in port and not the line in port where it should be plugged in.

Those are good points too. It's just always a bit worrying when it works normally at first and then suddenly just stops working.

difficult to understand where the problem is with the current explanation but if hardware and connections are fine i'd download the asio 4 all drivers, i know some people that starting having problems when their windows got updated and this drivers solved the problems.
