Free Electronica Track - 100% Reason...

Hey all,

Avatar One - Neural Navigation - Free Download by AvatarOne

This is one of my first ever tracks, from April 2008, I had started producing the previous July, so I was still very much learning at this point (I still am of course!).

Anyway - this was produced entirely in Reason 4. I was going to make an album of this sort of music, but it never really happened, so I thought I would make this available for free download. Just click on the little arrow thing above the waveform on the SoundCloud link.

The track itself is pleasant but what stands out considering you had not being doing it long, is the nmixing. Very open and clear. I've seen some people moan they cannot get Reason to sound nice, well this proves them wrong!

I started out with Reason 4 as well. Greatest program to start producing with IMHO. Not only does it teach you how to sequence, but it also teaches you sound design. Great work on the track btw

Hey,

Thanks everyone for taking a listen

With regards to Reason, I think it's slightly tricky to get a good mix from it (at least I find it so, comparing it to Ableton Live). In my mind it's because there are no meters on the mixer and I rely quite heavily on them. I think you also have to work a little harder to get a fuller sound. I'm not convinced that the synths are sonically up to the standard of something like Sylenth, but you can still get excellent results from the program, I find Reason to be extremely conducive to being creative too. It's definitely an excellent learning tool as well.

I've recently had a vocal electronica track signed to KULT Records (Airwave and Graeme Lloyd, amongst others are remixing it ) which is over 90% Reason, although I mixed it in Live 8.

Adam Fielding has just signed a 3 album deal with Distinctive (yes, THAT Distinctive - home of Hybrid and Way Out West!!) for his first 2 albums (already produced) and a new one, both of the first 2 were produced almost entirely within Reason (the first one entirely so).
