Pioneer CDJ 100's are what most people use I think. Well some people like the dual CD decks and if that is the case I believe Denon is the way to go. I could be wrong though.

I agree with the Pioneer CDJ100's. My friends use them and swear by them. Unless you want to fork out for the CDJ1000's which I wouldn't mind getting if I had the money.

just so you know CDs will end up pissing your off tremendously because of their digtal pitch faders incraments. basically they arent analog so you cant get it perfectly beatmatched every time and through your mixes you will have to jog the pitch to make sure the songs stay in sync It sux hehe thats why TT's are better, you can get a closer beat match

yes exactly what i was going to say. my cdj100's are only to 0.1% pitch which is not perfect enough when mixing in transitions.

I heard that on the CDJ100 if you set the pitch range so that it is smallest, it becomes more precise.. has anyone tried this?

Posted by Dj Flesch on Aug-06-2002 22:43:

I have used the CDJ-100s for several years now and I love them. I have never had a problem beatmatching because of the digital increment limitation. So you have to adjust the pitch mid-mix...oh no! Most of the time you will have to do that anyway, turntables or not... Anyway, the good thing about the cdj100s is that they are front loading and have no parts to break off! They are durable, good looking and have plenty of features for me! I recommend them highly!

I like the NumakCD34s model

cdj100s

I recently got a set of cdj100s's and a djm300s mixer and i love it. They are simple to use and sound wicked.

Double thumbs up pioneer. Getem!

what do you mean adjust the pitch mid mix ???

Posted by Dj Flesch on Aug-07-2002 22:06:

I mean that sometimes you don't always have the time to get things PERFECTLY beatmatched during the mix. Because of this you have to speed up or slow down the record/cd during the mix if you hear the beats start to separate. Otherwise you get a double beat and it is horrible sounding. There are a bunch of techniques you can use to minimize this though. Dj's do this all the time, just trainspot and see for yourself!

i got what you mean but my english is pretty bad, what is trainspotting??? (that's my last one)

the thing is i'm not clueless, it's just that my english won't help me at all. i just couldn't find out what you meant "mid-mix", i'm able to mix+beatmatch perfectly (i've taped over my bpm counters). i know shit happens sometimes and you've got no more time left to beatmatch (if you haven't already). you just throw it in and pitch bend all the time+beatmatching while in the mix to get it right.

what i'm trying to say is: PLEASE! i'm not clueless about mixing or equipment, it's just that i've never been on an on-line forum before & haven't ever used my english as a djing language. so it's kind of hard for me to get to your point...

sorry if my questions are almost always out of topic, i hope i'll get to be more helpful at this forum someday...

(believe it or not, next to my keyboard are two HUGE dictionaries 2books each, one for english-greek+one for greek english+i've read ALL of the tutorials i could find on-line to get the language. just trying not to let you down or think i'm an idiot...)

what is trainspotting anyway ?
