Above&Beyond's presumably new song

Someone posted the link to a presumably new track from their upcoming Group Therapy album. My first thought was "So this is what we had been waiting for for 4 years?" I dont say it's a bad song, but for the creative abilities of this fabulous trio it is pretty weak. And yea it sounds very much like Matthias Lethola Feat. Gina J - Burning Bright (Dub Mix), same melody line, same key.

Who expected them to make something good in the first place?

Posted by Microlab on Dec-13-2010 20:35:

Well historically they have been making great records and their upcoming album is the most anticipated one.

Maybe great in the late 90's still cheesy.

Yeah, I still like that sound I must admit, think this one could do very well. Will do very good at the dance floor for sure. People who have fun like cheesy stuff.

Above & Beyond is the cancer of trance. New album gonna be a tumour.

Couldnt have said it better.

I wouldn't go that far, anjunadeep is still one of the best labels out there imo

Hm maybe it's their remix of Miguel Bose song. Anyway they have changed their style, to a slower bpm and housier feel. Im just wondering: Armin, Above&Beyond etc are considered to be trendsetters in EDM, why do they have to follow house and write their records according to Beatport or any other popular chart. They are on top, they can set trends.

Well, for the record, I was at TATW 350 last Friday and their set was very much trance. It was dreamy and atmospheric. I didn't get a house vibe at all.

But their latest remix of Tonight had a housy feel, and Anphonic is in that plate too.

Posted by Rodri Santos on Dec-14-2010 14:37:

Anphonic is housier because they made it with Kyau & Albert whose style is housy. All around above & beyond suck, Kyau & Albert suck even more i only liked "Made of Sun" , their label is shit, all their artist are shit, Mat Zo is the only one who may have a possibility mostly because is young and i can see production values on him but with such a colleagues around him......

Don't joke, Anjunadeep fails hardly there are tons of labels that have better progressive...

Jetlag? Its a diluted shit label, but i guess if you are into the new type of generic prog there are alot of labels for you out there

Not all releases are amazing on Jetlag, but they have had some really exceptional ones. Anjunadeep has some great releases, but also drowned in a sea of mediocrity, especially as of late. The Anjunadeep sound gets old fast also, where I found the tracks on Jetlag more varied.

without liking them but ranging in similar style you have Mau5trap, Toolrom records or even Spinnin who is quite big at the moment and has room for several styles.

I'm sure you know this labels, they're not small ones for a specific new prog style as you said, and i like some releases here, specially from Spinnin. Anjunadeep hasn't got anything in their catalog that made me listen to it for more than 2 minutes, sometimes i give a chance again to it but once again.... fail.

All the anjunadeep releases are watered down trance/house with predictable melodies , no groove and so generic, all sound the same, one thing is being quite picky about the style you want on the releases and a different thing is releasing only material who sounds like remixes of a single original.

haha, all of which suck.

i think there is a lot of hype with Mau5trap and Toolrom but Spinnin has some good house, i only posted Mau5 and Toolrom because they usually own the top 10 of beatport

In all my browsing through beatport I see alot of spinnin tracks in the top 10 but never have I seen a quaility track from them

Posted by Rodri Santos on Dec-14-2010 19:17:

top 10 is often the shitiest music in beatport i've just listened global top 1 (deadmau5) and half of the tunes is annoying noise :S, but if you check through youtube you'll see good music in the spinnin label , they upload their music in very high quality. But just rush over the suggested tunes. Well i've to point out also that i look their catalogue in search of mainstream house , i'm not really into house but i've to play it and i see that their tunes are those who work best into the floor.
