Incredible map

Full article here

quote:
Facebook intern Paul Butler has been poring through some of the data held by the social networking firm on its 500m members. The map above is the result of his attempts to visualise where people live relative to their Facebook friends. Each line connects cities with pairs of friends. The brighter the line, the more friends between those cities. After tweaking the graphic and data set it produced a "surprisingly detailed map of the world," he said in a blog post. "Not only were continents visible, certain international borders were apparent as well," he wrote. "What really struck me, though, was knowing that the lines didn't represent coasts or rivers or political borders, but real human relationships." However, large chunks of the world are missing, such as China and central Africa, where Facebook has little presence.

I bet 4chan had absolutely nothing to do with that. Not at all. No chance that they influenced that whatsoever.

Spain is a man's face, face-planting into Africa. He appears to be doing some kind of awkward push-up.

Edit: He's being stabbed in the back by a midget!

Posted by Lira on Dec-16-2010 07:16:

I've always, for as long as I can remember, seen a rabbit on the moon. EVERY single time I look at the moon I see it. I never asked others if they can see it too, and this seems to be the appropriate thread to ask. Do you also see a bunny on the moon???

Posted by Lira on Dec-16-2010 07:24:

I can't. People have tried to show me this rabbit all the time but I just can't see it

REALLY?! That means other people see it too!!!

I think I once asked my bf if he can see it and he laughed at me.

I'm gonna try to find a good pic of the moon and go to Paint and try to depict it for you.

EDIT: That was easy thanks to Google.

Don't worry, whole cultures see it... but their rabbit is facing the other way

yet both pics seem to include some random blob not connected to either rabbit. whats up with that?
