Dubstep is to blame for music like this

With the increasing popularity of dubstep, and an growing interest in dance music from the frat boy/Jersey Shore crowd, you get bands like Abandon All Ships. Half metalcore, half electronica/dubstep. All shit. Since we label dubstep pretty broadly around here, I guess this should be categorized as dubstep too.

You can definitely hear a classic trance pattern in the synth melodies in this song:

The bobbing in this video is too funny

Wow, that's full on trance, not just supersaw.

With your limited grasp of the term "troll", I'm not surprised that you've already failed with this transparent thread.

Well, I find hearing new hybrids to be worth 30 seconds of my time no matter how shitty they are.

I LOL'd.

Then dude came on with his Autotuned vocals. And I LOL'd some more.

Actually I think the idea is not bad at all. But the vocals don't fit at all, and then I heard the autotune part -> lol...

Also, this has almost nothing to do with dubstep...

This is dubstep: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xi9EOmnvxoQ and it's the shit

no no, only bad taste is to blame for this...

There are good and bad songs in every single genre of music. I don't see why so many people have a hard time accepting this.

That said, the autotune trance screamo metal just confuses me.

Actually some of the autotune screamo metal is pretty decent.

IMO its one of those things that is so perfectly terrible I have trouble believing it could be real, but rather cling to the idea that it must be a parody band...

Shit i like this... i used to be a fan of the swedish melodic death metal bands like Sonic Syndicate Soilwork In flames Pain etc... and Rammstein (Germany) they all include at some point some synths in their tracks, specially Pain, and i like the genre a lot like a crossover between "guitar music" and "Synth music".

In fact sometimes i've realised that metal often has something like a chord progression

This could be an example:

And the usage of synths on this song:

Celldweller is a mixture of metal,trance,goa,dnb... worth a listen possibly
