F***in A SvD

IMO he was one of the last "mainstream" trance DJs still putting out interesting tracks. I really hope this shit is the last time he delves into this cheesy nonsense.

what a fookin distance from Direct Dizko

Posted by hardcore trancer on Dec-20-2010 21:36:

WTF was he thinking making a track like this?

Posted by shaminii on Dec-20-2010 22:19:

Reminds me of John O'Callagahn when he came out with 'Big Sky'. He hasn't been the same since and it really made him popular with the little kids.

The same Sander Van Doorn that also made tunes like 'Twister', 'Rush', 'Adrenaline','Eden' and remixed tunes like Stars Shine Bright and Compadre.......

WHOA

Posted by TheInvisibleKid on Dec-21-2010 01:16:

this is just ATROCIOUS. and why does it seem like the same sappy third grader writes the lyrics to all these vocal trance songs? excuse me while i listen to "control freak" five times over to erase all memory of this

Fair enough. This is just really a far cry from the kinds of stuff he typically puts out.

SVD's been a bit hit & miss with my musical tastes for a few years now (2007-), some of its been 'ok', but some of it can get cringe worthy like this. Wouldn't write him off as a spent force, just not a sure bet for good tracks all the time like he used to be putting out.

I can't believe Adrenaline was made by the same guy who did this piece of crap.

Y'know, it's not bad-bad, just totally generic ASOT-tripe. Did he sign to Armada or something?

Ah, who cares. No one will remember this in two years anyway.

Posted by TranceArmstrong on Dec-21-2010 06:56:

I loved SVD in my trance days. Purple Haze, Eden, Control Freak, Grasshopper, Rush Dance4Life, etc... even his foray into tech house was ok from what I remember hearing

this is baaaaad

...which makes it even worse.

Absolute dogshit. Words cannot express how much I hate that track.

Eh, I found all that 'anti-climax' nonsense he was doing on his album to be far more rubbish.

svd has to pay bills like the rest of us, as well.

Posted by pointPi on Dec-21-2010 10:17:

What I just heard was definitely modern house in my terms. Ugh, I'm not impressed.

Perhaps I'm simply reacting to my initially expecting something aesthetically reprehensible, but independent of the ridiculous vocals, it's actually somewhat listenable.

Anyway, it's too bad he's ditched the Purple Haze moniker, as it was usually a sound indicator that what you'd be listening to would be among his better work.

That main melodic riff actually sounds a bit Purple Haze-ish.

You really think so? All I heard was a Guettaesque Fuck-me-I'm-famous-Fisher-Price-four-notes-to-even-more-fame catastrophe.

'Somewhat listenable' is still very much within the scope of 'pretty bad,' and again, outside of the vocals, this is about as listenable as pretty bad gets.

So pretty much everyone is in agreement. I've always been a big SvD fan, but this was really disappointing to me. I was hoping he'd never put out a vocal track like this, but I guess that's just where things are headed if you want to make real money.

sanders been going downhill for quite some time already. id say 2008 when he released supernaturalcraptistic and when he was canning the girl you lost to cocaine in every fuckin set was when it started. hes had a few decent tracks since then (ninety, bastillion, intro xx booty mix for example) but most of it has still been a far cry from his 04, 05, 06 tunes. his releases these days are filler tracks at best, while his old tracks were flat out destroyers. i honestly wouldnt mind this kinda shit so much if he did stay somewhat true to what got him to where he is now. but that isnt the case. you know when hes dropping tracks like tiesto and diplo - cmon and that god awful sarah howells - find yourself track you know you're fucked. thats not what sanders good at! never was. unfortunately sander doesnt give two shits about what got him to where he is. hes just riding the cheeseville train to fortunetown.

read the youtube comments... for him its a success. for anyone else who listens to shit for more than 2 minutes this is a disgrace.

i could go on for days about this... but we're all in agreement anyway. i just wish sander would get a kick in the ass one day.
