An Ivy League student and university magazine editor has been arrested after being caught with $150,000 worth of heroin stashed in a tupperware container. Police were called to a hotel parking lot in Ithaca, New York, after a nearby resident reported seeing the student acting strangely. Keri Blakinger, a 26-year-old Cornell University senior, was found holding a clear plastic container containing heroin with a street value of $150,000. "The preliminary weight of the heroin indicates it may be the second largest seizure of the drug by the Ithaca Police Department since September of 2008," Deputy Ithaca Police Chief John Barber told the Ithaca Journal. The student was reportedly under the influence of drugs when she was arrested. "She appeared uncomfortable, uneasy, having a hard time standing still and of an altered state of mind," an onlooker told police.

my alma mater. i was acquainted with the girl (several of my friends knew her better) and the building she lived in. we called it the crack house - it was the only house in the neighborhood that would rent on a monthly basis so it attracted all the transients. one of my friends lived there and i remember the first time it got raided by a swat team

cornell must be the place to get drugs. they just busted guys selling large amounts of coke and lsd at cornell. apparently the tuition is so high that they have to resort to committing felonies just to go there.

it's really every college, just that these college students get caught bc they're book smart not street smart lol

well ithaca (where cornell is located) is a notorious hippie-town. there are lots of users in the community even without the colleges, and there have been a ton of drug busts and violent crimes associated with drugs there (increased i think)

i was up in ithaca last month and while i was there some guy shot a guy in a parking lot for drugs (and because his gf was sleeping around)

no joke, sometimes i feel safer walking where i live in bk than parts of ithaca at night
