So, end of 2010 is just around the corner, and your worst tune of the year is....

Arguably.

Wow.

The original version of that, not that silly mashup, is probably the best Rihanna tune I've heard. Them norwegians did a good job.

The one at #1 on the Resident Advisor Chart.

About 90% of the CHR released this year was crap!
When it comes to trance, the crap attack comes from labels like Armada and Anjunabeats, and of course our beloved Arman.

Stereo Love or Hot. I hated both equally.

Let's just get it out of the way and point out that no one is going to post what is actually the 'worst' track of the year. It's just the track that you find most repulsive, out of the limited selection of tracks you remember hearing. With that in mind...

anything I hear before I pop in my big beat cd in my ride

Wouldnt say that I dislike it, but it is quite generic and boring. Never heard it anywhere befoe it popped up in many charts of 2010.

Right, generic. Because when you go through the tech-house section of beatport, all the tracks sound like carbon copies of this Art Department one.

No. It's a cacophonous mess. I can't possibly imagine they took it seriously or thought it was quality music, so why should anyone else?

Posted by woscar on Dec-27-2010 23:29:

Of course they didn't take it seriously, but that doesn't mean it's shit.

Posted by Adam420 on Dec-27-2010 23:42:

lol. Oscar why do you even bother? You know that by no human standards that could even come close to being true with all the filth that is coming out every day.

Posted by keithos27 on Dec-28-2010 00:00:

that no americano remake... shite!

Any track with out-of-tune vocals and poorly produced instrumentals (which are in keys chosen purely for irony/sarcasm) has no business being deemed as anything else. I hate the [mis]use of this reasoning just as much as anyone else, but I really do think that if anyone else had produced that nonsense, it would have been tossed aside as quickly as any other obstacle to a worthwhile beatport purchase.

Dude you are so wrong. That track is just supposed to be fun. Not the kind I necessarily subscribe to (even though I've heard Johnny White drop it at a party several months before it was released), it's fun for some nonetheless. Is it even close to being track of the year? no, not really. But it's so far from being the worst it's almost unimaginable.

Posted by shaw on Dec-28-2010 04:41:

As I said...

I know exactly what the point of it is, and I have nothing wrong with fun, but it has to at least approach some acceptable level of musicianship imo.

don't ask me how I know about this
