Wow! Listening to his an old Essential Mix recorded live from Love From Above Berlin back in 2002!!! I miss his old sound. It's just pure bliss. What the hell happened? Hahahaha

Paul's set @ Space Miami for WMC this year was amazing! He probably doesn't come to LA much since everyone bitches about him...lol

I can only say that PVD in a good club > PVD at a Massive. I think the Palladium would be a great venue if the sound is up to his high standards!

Posted by DjWoody on Dec-28-2010 18:18:

I think PVD at The Mayan woud be amazing! There's something about The Mayan that pretty much every DJ I've seen there has been magical. PVD is no exception.

There were times when Paul used to play straight trance, but his best sets IMO where when he used to mix the whole spectrum. He would mix everything from house (really sped up), to breaks, to trance, to techno in one set. Those sets were fun!

I still remember one time he played at The Mayan and everyone was jumping so hard that the floor was wobbling. I thought we were all gonna fall down into the basement.

His Rosenmontags Rave 02/11/2002 is one of my faves.. along with homelands Columbia hall and ministry of sound..

Posted by nima86 on Dec-28-2010 21:21:

his mayday 2002 also one of my favs

Posted by modthispny on Dec-28-2010 22:53:

just finished listening to the set and i don't think i've heard anything like that before. it was pretty damn awesome, kind of a shame that you can't find DJ's that play music like that anymore.

PvD is the reason I listen to Dance Music.

my favorite part from the PvD @ rosenmontags2000 live set.
these two tracks just made me goose bumps
I try to copy his remix @145bpm.
enjoy!

you can, theyre just waiting for their time to shine in the garage, or uh in the bedroom.. lol

The thing with PvD is he used to always look so serious behind the decks. And he was amazing

It's funny because then he started to be a lot more animated behind the decks, seems like he was having a lot more fun. It's also when his sets started going to hell because he was trying to do all kinds of stuff in his sets and it started sounding both a bit sloppy and the programming just started becoming whack. So I think he was having more fun behind the decks, maybe because he was trying to do new things, but his sets have suffered because of it

I miss the old PvD.

Yeap! When I first started going out with my girl, we were talking about how you can tell a lot about a DJ by the way they look behind the decks. I remember telling her that PVD looked more like someone you treat with respect and how he had that fatherly look to him. Very clean cut. Than there's other DJ's you just wanna party with, like Carl Cox who's always jumping up and down and doing all kinds of crazy things. There's the ones you wanna get high with, like Sasha. And finally the ones that are all about the money, the girls, the glitz, and could give a fuck if we're having fun or not, like, yeap, Tiesto.
