Sound Toys Filter Freak is excellent and would be my top choice, but I'd also recommend checking out:

- FabFilter Volcano 2
- Tone2 FilterBank 3
- U-He Filterscape
- Vengeance Philta XL

I believe that there are demos available for all of these.

Ooh.. that Philta looks tasty, the others seem a bit too complex.. but ill look into it.

I think so too and will probably pick it up soon, but it got slammed pretty hard when I posted about it:

Oh, and FYI - it does require a Synchrosoft dongle, in case that's an issue for you. And, Filter Freak that I mentioned above requires an iLok. The others use serial numbers or challenge/response.

Realistically, there are only so many filter shapes, and in the mix, its almost impossible to tell which one is which. On top of which, most synths these days can take an audio signal and use their filters to process it, so I would think that everyone has at least one or two really good multimode filters in their arsenal.

EDIT: For some reason I thought I was replying to a post of yours saying something about more flavours being good when it came to filters. My brains already hurting and I haven't even commenced NYE celebrations yet..?
