How to get back in the scene?

Hi,

I'm just wondering...I used to go to clubs a lot but I moved away for work & for uni, and now that I'm back in Toronto after 7 years, I really don't know anybody who is into electronic music. Excuses you say? My ex hated this kind of music, so I never really had a chance to go for 2 1/2 years.
What do you guys think is the best approach. I obviously don't wanna go to a club/rave by myself.

TOTAs are overall very friendly bunch. Normally there are roll calls for events. Pick one that you like, introduce yourself. There is a picture thread somewhere with pics of what we look like. And start dancing.

Judging by your name, I'd say the PVD show Jan 29th would be a great place to get back into it.. =)

On a side note GFs or even friends GFs that hate EDM is a real pain. Like cmon you think we like your pop/country/alternative/top 40 whatever BS? Not at all but we put up with it cause we know it's what you like. Bitches. Upside is I guess it makes you appreciate girls who are down with EDM, and props to all of em cause you truly are the bomb.

P.S. I was in the exact same situation as you back in 2006 when I first joined the scene. I started out by going to a house party filled with TOTAs amongst whom I had literally not met a single person - I had new friends by the end of the night

If you are pre 2005, you'll be hugely dissapointed unless your taste in edm has done a 180...

But yes PVD is coming back so if you must, this should be a decent party...
