Favourite TA mixes of 2010?

I've been charged with making this thread by the arch overlord Stu, so here goes. Very simple: your favourite TA DJ mixes from the year of our lord, 2010. A bit of a description as to why people should check it out would be appreciated.

My picks:

Nighteyes - More Often Than Not
Incredible set that moves smoothly across the genres while maintaining a deep, warm and funky vibe throughout.

pozz - Crimson Jihad
Pozz doing what pozz does best. Vast ambient infinity mixed with next-level precision and attention to detail.

Fake Schempp - Fur Goggle
Biosphere, PiL, John Carpenter, Blondie, OMD, Massive Attack, Nathan Fake and more references to cult 80s horror than you can shake a dismembered limb at. Say no more.

I thought long and hard (aw yeah...) about my choices for this thread, and came up with the following:

I'd like to second Jack's choice of poz - crimson jihad, and at a similar level of epicness, his own set:

Jack Moss - Post Apocalyptic Transmissions
This set is vast, deep, and has some variety in it as well. I think it's a great, great set.

Hamid - Future Retro Revolution
Trance at its finest. This set builds you up and releases the tension like you've never heard before.

Found Atlantis - Freshwater Koi
This set got tons of plays from me, some of the coolest, freshest hip-hop sounds I've heard. No actual rapping here, it's all instrumental, but the whole thing is totally sick.

Falony - Felatious
I thought this mix was super cool because it explores psychedelic rock, a 'genre' which I know practically nothing about. Way better than the radio.

If i had to pick just one, right now, it would have to be:

Falony - Thicker than the thicket
I've listened to this like a million times since i downloaded it.

Ill go through my usermix collection one of these days and post more

EDIT: Okey, so ive looked through my TA usermixes folder, and these are my conclusions:

ChrisOne - Touching the spirits:
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=559029&referrerid=2

Simply insane. If i were to organize a rave this guy would be the main act

Rob Turner - Synthesis:
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=557064&perpage=12&forumid=&pagenumber=1

Greatly mixed deep house set. Definetly recomended for the Deep house lovers on TA

Adam Solomon - Dunkel Weise
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=566224&perpage=12&forumid=&pagenumber=1

Imho its the best mix I've heard from Adam. And Ive heard(and liked) many. I stopped making deep house sets after this as i realized i never would make one as good as this

Technoise 02
(couldn't find a link)

I was listening to this right after comming home from Berlin. It took me straight back to Berghain. Nuff said.

Le Freak - Little green men from uranus
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=575611&perpage=12&forumid=25&pagenumber=1

This one got way to little attention, great musics by el freak-oh

Jon Cockle - My Essential Mix part 2

Beautiful Morning-Psy set with a good flow & tight mixing.

Evirdy - Seven Days Til Tomorrow

I've known Jamey for a long time now & listened to her as she's improved as a DJ but for me this one is awesome, great tracklist, good mixing and the music works really well. So proud of her for it, and hope to hear another good one this year from her

Posted by pozz on Jan-10-2011 00:59:

thanks you for ze mention comrades. my vote goes to:

ziptnf's - Yin's Reign (Dark Psy)

http://www2.tranceaddict.com/forums...16&referrerid=2

after the mix melts yo' brain, save it in a jar for future listens. high-speed, high-power & hi-fidelity mixing, tune selection and direction.

20100101 - undejecteddisco

Flawless and fast paced set about a genre that's been on the move this year, and I enjoyed every second of it.

This year I didn't really have enough time to listen and re-listen to as many TA mixes as I wanted to, but the one that really stood out to me was Nighteyes - More Often Than Not. Lots of variety, great flow and musics that give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Hamid - Future Retro Revolution

Great uplifting trance, no cliched overplayed sounds, just pure quality. By the end of the mix you will get that chills down your spine feeling, guaranteed.

Posted by RebeL9 on Jan-12-2011 20:49:

Thanks guys. Really glad that you liked it
Maybe I will make another classic uplifting trancemix.

Jack Moss - Lush
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...9&forumid=73&s=

Probably my most listened to TA mix ever so I feel it definitely deserves a mention in here.

I'm not a seasoned DJ or electronic music reviewer so I won't pretend to know what I'm talking about and spare you the in depth review. Great tunes, good flow, nothing wrong with the mixing as far as I could tell. I'll leave it up to you to check out the tracklist in the link and decide for yourself if you want to give it a listen or not.

I would also like to mention that there have been many other sets on here I have enjoyed in the last while, but this one just seemed to stand out for me.

EDIT: I recall that System J intended for this set to be listened to during the summertime, but I still find it quite enjoyable listening to it now in the middle of the Canadian winter. =)

Posted by TranceArmstrong on Jan-12-2011 21:55:

this thread is exactly what I was looking for today, haven't listened to a TA mix in a while.

My vote goes for any of the 'TA's Share Their Classics' mixes I listened to in the past year. Also, Adam Vana did a summery mix of disco/house/other good stuff that I enjoyed a lot.

edit: found it

Summer 2010 by avana

also any of trance armstrong's mixes, total class that guy is

Posted by chesco on Jan-12-2011 23:28:

The stand out was probably technoise 2 from deepdream.

Wow dude I really appreciate that!

As for me, well I smoke way too much weed so I really don't remember what were some of my favorite mixes

didn't expect that so thanks man.

to be honest most of the classics mixes are the ones i go back to the most from the last year. Adam's gets a lot of play.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Jan-13-2011 01:07:

Damnit guys, I'm going to have to restart the Classics game aren't I?

Posted by Lews on Jan-13-2011 03:13:

Yes you damn right are

Posted by Zyklon_Jay on Jan-14-2011 12:12:

it would be wise.

lack of replies does not mean that the mixes there are not quality...most of this forum is dead anyway. if people put in the effort to make them, at least you know that a handful of us will appreciate them. I've been off electronic music for a bit, so mixes like that which feature a lil bit of everything are a breath of fresh air.

Posted by tubularbills on Jan-16-2011 05:54:

Bren F - Spaced Out. great ambient mix for sure. very chilled and relaxing. can't find the link for it though cause the search function suuuucks llol

Posted by Lews on Jan-17-2011 05:40:

Mixes I enjoyed a ton:

Jack's Post Apocalyptic Transmissions [Ambient/Techno/Dubstep]

Teezdalien Plays Acid House from the Genre Challenge Game

Slipping Towards Insanity from Mr. Mystery also from the Genre Game

Enydo's Classics Mix from Jack's Game

Some others as well, but can't think of them atm

Definitely really liked both the Genre Challenge and Jack's Classics. Both helped me find some great music and some very enjoyable sets.

Holy fuck! It's a pleasure to read those words. I'm gonna upload it again to MU or something.
