Question Looking to hire famous DJ for $4000

Here's the scenario... A club is hiring me to help them produce a dance music party. They are willing to pay $4k USD for a DJ. This money will need ot cover the DJ's expenses, hotel, etc, etc. I don't know how much DJs cost, so if anyone can offer some suggestions that will be great. Hopefully it's a trance DJ but if I can't do that, another genre would be good too.

check out some DJs websites! most of them would have a contact address for such things! im sure you could just send an email to enquire about what kind of fee they usually take to play a gig! and if they want too much or whatever just go find some one else!

good luck

ill do it for half the price, and u can keep the other half for yourself? good deal? We make 2K each, sounds like a good deal to me...

I am probally mistaken but the cost to hire a "famous" DJ is huge. Heard some of them get 50kish plus for a normal gig, and some make hundreds of thousands for big events. But like I said I am probally wrong. I guess it would depend who you consider "famous"

Icey, Christopher Lawrence, and George Acosta are all under 4k... And I think they are biggest famous..

I think PvD would cost around 40k.

maybe Icey and shit cost these prices ...
but don't forget to add the cost of bringing them in ( top notch plane seat + hotel etc )

oups you said that in your post ... my bad

this is in november so get your ass moving!

+ like I mentionned earlier I know airwave does it for 2K to which you'll have to add travelling expenses etc....

you know your scene better then us!

so according to you what will be bound to bring in people?

Tiesto takes 20k's for a sigle gig...

Posted by SeeK on Aug-05-2002 06:21:

Another thing u got to consider is how many hours the DJ has got to play for. I mean 4K is less than what PvD earns an hour.. So u might have to consider that too. Another thing u might want to do is, have a look which DJ is on tour around that area, and get in touch with his managers and organise a 2 hour set before or after his regualr tour set, and get local DJ's to fill in the rest of the night?

Just a thought.

George Acosta is going to cost anywher from 5-8k for a weekend event.

you have to keep in mind DJ's cost more on Friday and Saturday nights. Plus you pay half up front and half after they show up.

www.giotto.dj (S.H.O.K.K.)

contact the DJ from S.H.O.K.K. there! i reckon $4000 should be enough but you will have to contact his international management from his site
