Kobo/Kindle/Ebook etc...
So I got my mom one of these for Christmas... ain't really played with it much, besides going on Chapters and seeing how you can buy books etc...
But does anyone know where to get books for free? Or other ways to get more digital publications?
Or any good sites for kobo/kindles?
Thanks!
Even cool stuff to do with them, hacks, mods, etc...

I love my kindle! If you go onto Amazon, you can get literally thousand of out-of-copyright books for free!
Nice device! I enjoy it but it has given me an expensive book habit.
I could never get into ebooks. Something about it just doesn't feel right. I find myself more skimming than reading, and there is something about flipping pages of a real book that just feels... normal

I was very skeptical at first too, preffered the book and thought tablet reading would be annoying, hurt the eyes etc. But the kobo (don't call it a kindle or the bitches at Chapters and Indigo with crucify you!). [Kobo{CANADA]=Kindle{US}]
But the Kobo, very lightweight, not hard to hold at all, and the screen is very easy on the eyes. Not to fond of the buttons, but that's not a huge deal.
So, back to the original questions, besides the non copyright, and school, or classic novels etc... anyone know where to get some non DRM'ed or free version of the popular stuff? The bestsellers etc?

I have a Kindle 3 Wifi+3G and I cannot put it down. It's the greatest device ever made, in my opinion. All I do now is read.

If anybody is going to buy an ebook reader and you're hung up on the Kobo or Kindle, get the Kindle. The screen is a generation newer and is much easier to read, and it turns pages faster. I bought my mom a Kobo for Mother's Day last year, and I compared them this past weekend - it's night and day, the Kindle's screen is so much nicer.
