House Keeper Finds BT, Daughter & Dog Unconscious

OUCH!!! He's one of my favorite producer and I really look up to him. Glad he's ok now!

He tweeted it about an hour ago. Apparently, BT & his daughter made a fire in the fireplace this morning, went to sleep. The snow on the chimney made the Carbon Monoxide go back into the house causing them to almost die in their sleep. The house keeper found them all and couldn't wake them up. Including the dog. She called 911 and they saved their lives.

I guess those vapors cool down by the time they reach the top I would have thought they would have melted right through the snow, guess not. Thank god for the house keeper she better be getting a fat check this month.

Very talented and glad they're OK but damn, that man has more drama with his daughter than most greek tragedies put together.

Glad they are ok. They are very fortunate to be alive. This reminds of a story a few years back where a family of 5 went to sleep in their camper and kept a space heater running that was powered by an electric generator. It was not properly ventilated and as a result they never woke up. Very tragic.

Now I don't know if this is true, but the rumor goes that one of those times was actually about a particular album not being ready (or good) and the excuses to the label had run out along with their patience...so during the "theft" that entire album was "lost" and he had to start from scratch, buying at least another year of time to come up with something else.

I know what you're talking about.

BT's 4th album Emotional Technology was quite a different album in its original conception. BT had even worked with Peter Gabriel on one of the songs. But BTs place was robbed, along with all of the work on his 4th album. So BT had to start from scratch.

The part about this that is hard to believe is the fact that BT had no backup of his work. The man has an IQ that puts him in about the highest 3% of the worlds populous, and he made that kind of stupid mistake doesn't seem plausible.

This is the first time I'm hearing about the theft being a stall tactic though.

Like I said, I don't know if it's true, but I just can't believe that any working producer, especially someone like him does not have even partial backups. It's just part of working at that level - it become routine. Apparently an entire years worth of work was lost and in that time not one offsite, server, CD, DVD or tape backup was done. It just seems too unbelievable.

My stuff isn't worth shit but I still back it up several times a year and put the most vital stuff in a different location.

So beatflux, that's what you take from this thread. back your stuff up. Unless you need to start the project from scratch
