Tiesto - The World's Biggest DJ/Producer

Recently voted "The Greatest DJ Of All Time" by Mixmag and widely regarded as the world's biggest DJ/Producer, Tiesto has worked with global superstars such as Nelly Furtado, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Goldfrapp and more... His recently completed Kaleidoscope World Tour spanned more than 15 months and 175 dates across 6 continents playing to over 1,000,000+ people. A lot of people have personal dignity that overrides wealth and your face plastered everywhere, but you do have a point.

Anytime someone gets so big in what ever they are into people rip into them and call them a sell out. I mean someone has to be on top and they get flamed for it, I remember when everyone love Tiesto.

You will never hear Markus Schulz play like this:

Posted by drEamer on Feb-01-2011 17:10:

u wont hear tiesto play like that either......

dignity doesnt pay the bills......

I think dignity and art go hand in glove.

enough said.

Plus I find Dj's in the Dj Promo section that blow Tiesto out of the water, his production skills are still decent though.

shows are not all about the music......he might not be the best dj, but his shows are second to none......production wise

True! But we glorify him too much, actually we glorify all famous DJ's too much at the shows. Speaking of just the general population of show goers.

u might be right there....cant really argue that point, but to me, Tiesto shows are just great times...always have been

Posted by apple country on Feb-01-2011 19:44:

im just saying...having a big light show and production doesn't make you a better artist.

I'd rather see the best dj in a dark room with one light and 50 ppl.

another note...if Tiesto hadn't dropped being a Trance dj playing Trance...I'd probably still support him.

Yeah, he was great when he was up and coming Dj.

he still plays trance!!!!!!!!!!! believe that much

Saw him in Washington D.C. back in '04 at Cubik Nation, girlfriend and I made a roadtrip out of it but they flooded the place beyond capacity it made it harder to breathe, kinda shitty. I'm wondering if thats what TheRave will do. I think I paid 25.00$ to see him but 47.00$ for general admission is bananas RANT, but from tracklists in the recent past he plays mainstream farty hip housey tech-junk and trainwrecks into epic trance... what a guy

Posted by Syntonic on Feb-09-2011 08:40:

anyone know what his live acts consist of; fireworks, pyro, etcetera? Cuz damn the price is crazy. I miss the seedy underground club atmosphere.

this is actually pretty cheap...the minneapolis/st paul show starts at 70

Posted by Syntonic on Feb-09-2011 23:00:

yeah i thought about it after because the club was uber druggy so people could care less about pyro or fireworks. Just had tv plasmas with tiesto on them with animations, dont know if he VJ'ed it. yeah 47$ is better than 70$ I debating to go since I cant sit through the junk only to hope he drops Suburban Train or something along the lines

he will play his classics.....no doubt, but he plays alot of electro stuff these days as well......not bad to my ears at all

Posted by Desiderata on Feb-10-2011 00:04:

That will work.

I hope he does play a lot of his older stuff but milwaukee is so hip-hop, kissfm oriented I'm thinking he will mostly play electro and maybe a hour if that of his older stuff. IMO being its a Tiesto event, it should be more like a legacy thing. Like going from In My Memory to his current stuff or mixing it all up chronologically. But you gotta cater to all

Posted by Desiderata on Feb-10-2011 05:58:

He will more than likely disappoint his hardcore fans like he always does.

- Bring rolls just in case.
