My brother went and sent me pics! I am jealous! He had a blast and said the music was great. Any videos for us still freezing our tushies off?!?!

They were incredible.

Can I just say as someone who had seen G&D at least 15 times before the breakup, not only did I approve of this party, but I was downright impressed!

One of my problems with them that began to grow shortly before they broke up was that they only played their stuff (their hits, you know.. As The Rush Comes, Beautiful Things, etc.) and they seemed to be doing these "greatest hits shows" that many DJs resign themselves to when they travel to smaller cities than Miami, LA, NYC and the like... their shows for less sophisticated crowds (on the whole). Being from Austin, I know how to spot these shows well - of course now that I've moved to Miami, Austin seems to have a great deal more credibility than it used to and apparently no longer falls victim to these - and G&D seemed to be crapping them out nearly every time.

To their credit they play their stuff because no one else really can, minus a few exceptions like Zocalo and you-name-the-remix of As The Rush Comes, but that excuse really only went so far with me. I thought their shows were woefully devoid of variety for the last year or so before they broke up.

All of that is to say that I thought that their stuff was so appropriately retooled that the audience was treated to an AMAZING performance rather than simply patronized by the greatest hits that used to pervade. They really were awesome, and I was judging harshly. An incredible performance, and probably among the top two or three sets I've ever seen from them. Definitely the highlight of the weekend for me!

Tickets for this show actually sold out. Was the club full? I was so pissed for waiting till the last minute.

I think I had a GREAT time at this party!

That Cadenza Boat Cruise beforehand did my liver no favors

It was pretty well packed, although I gotta say, I hadn't been to shine in a good 4-5 years or so and I remember the lighting setup being a lot cooler last time. For this event, the lighting was very underwhelming and the lasers they had were pretty cheezy.

Good thing the music was great though and of course that's what really matters!
