Vocal chord sample from 'Dark & Long' (Dark Train)

If you know the track you know the sample I'm on about. It's also used in Chicane 'Red Skies'. Anyone know the source of it?
I'm just curious.
I'm certain it's a sample as if you listen to the end of Dark & Long when only it is played, you can hear loop points and the delay bouncing off it.

J - I did some Youtubing. You're right, but I can't find a version where the chords are played alone for them to be lifted as a sample. The sample sounds quite long in 'Dark & Long' before the loop point hits, indicating there must have been a significant bit of the chords on their own.

Edit - It seems Kraftwerk made this sound on a Vako Orchestron using the Choir sound it produced. Though according to wiki only 70-100 were made so I doubt Underworld used one - but it wouldn't surpise me. But I really really doubt Mr Bracegirdle used one. Hinting back at a sample being used.

Unless Chicane nicked it from Underworld??
Underworld - 'Dark & Long' (Dark Train) 1994
Chicane 'Red Skies' 1997

I think I now officially care too much about this.....

This keyboard is the source of the sound. Its drawn out choir sound was made famous by Kraftwerk in Radioactivity, which was sampled by New Order on Blue Monday. I always took the vocal chord in Dark Train as a tribute to those tracks. It's quite possible that Underworld got hold of their own Orchestron to recreate the sound.

Ah, I've got it. It'll be sampled from the start of this:

Certainly sounds more likely than than it being lifted from the versions of Radioactivity I heard in terms of achieving a sample. I don't think the chord is right though, sounds different to dark & long.

Yeah, you're right. I'll go with Underworld getting their own keyboard, and Chicane sampling the outro of Dark Train, then.

Done! Much obliged.

I best get back to work now I suppose.

Wow, thats interesting...

I think the red skies one could be the same samples as Dark and Long personally, it just sounds like the underworld one is slightly flatter but it could be the same chord... I'm always fascinated by how many cheesy rompler sounds were used in these old classics, its like Toca me and 9 pm till I come, Eugina/Leaving Town and all these others... So cool.
