Tisto is the most recognized name in the Electronic Dance Music scene. This Grammy nominated artist has been named the worlds #1 DJ for three consecutive years by DJ Magazine and is the first DJ to perform at the Olympics opening ceremony in 2004. His recently completed Kaleidoscope World Tour, which had a sold-out Minneapolis date, spanned more than 15 months, and 175 dates across 6 continents playing to over 1,000,000+ people.

Born Tijs Michiel Verwest, the Dutch musician, DJ and producer is the co-founder of Black Hole Recordings. Better known as Tisto, he has released five studio albums with his most recent release, Kaleidoscope, containing tracks featuring artists such as Nelly Furtado, Emily Haines of Metric, and Calvin Harris. He recently collaborated with Sean Kingston, FloRida and Three 6 Mafia to produce the hit Feel It. His music can also be found on the popular DJ Hero game series.

This Dutch musician has been a major catalyst in making the Electronic Dance Music community grow and receive recognition. For the first time in Sound in Motion history, this concert will take place at the historic Roy Wilkins Auditorium. This event will feature the largest sound, light, and visual display ever in the twin cities for an EDM event.

Tickets for this event will be split between a general admission floor ticket (slightly more expensive) and seated. There will be a limited number (2500) of general admission floor tickets. We do anticipate these will sell rather quickly, so now is the time to start planning for this event. Tiesto.com will have a limited chunk of tickets avail prior to the main on-sale date, which will occur about 1 week following.

Stay locked in to http://www.simshows.com/ for info related to this and other amazing EDM events. SIM is holding nothing back at presenting what will become the new standard for rockstar EDM events in town. We appreciate your support. Your energy and enthusiasm for EDM events has provided us with the opportunity to bring this music to the largest stage it has been in the twin cities. We are excited

Sound In Motion will be providing a massive visual display and the most sound heard in Minnesota since the Mile High days...

It's going to be intense!

Sound In Motion does the best that they can to keep prices low. If you look at other events featuring Tiesto in other large markets the cost is comparable. Don't forget that Ticketmaster charges about %15 extra on top of the ticket price.

Regardless of cost, it will be an amazing show.

Check out the hype on the facebook event! http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=103513863058743

no its not comparable really.....vegas was only 70.....and thats like the most expensive city in america....and it was almost 4 hour set......milwaukee on april 8th is 54 with all fees......only time i paid MORE than 81 to see Tiesto was for a NYE event...and i have seen him 40 times......SIM just totally turned me off to this show....7-1145, 81 bucks....think about it...would u really pay that?

Posted by drEamer on Mar-11-2011 17:15:

sorry, im just kinda pissed....it appears like a money grab....cuz thats about DOUBLE what u have ever charged for Tiesto alone

Trust me when I say that it's not a money grab. This is the way that it had to be to get Tiesto. If not this way, then no Tiesto in MN again this year.

Posted by drEamer on Mar-11-2011 17:59:

i know he wouldnt play epic, too small...but still.....81.93....god damn man! i wanna go, but i cant pay 81....not even for the greatest dj alive...now if it was a 4 hour set, i wouldnt have any problems paying it

Please realize that we have done everything we could do keep this ticket price as manageable as possible. This show is a completely different experience than what Tiesto has ever done in MN before. Our reputation for keeping prices low stands by itself. We understand that some people will be priced out for this show, but it was either do this show the way it is or not have Tiesto in MN at all. Very little we could actually do. His 2-hour set is his choice. Tiesto's management has the choice to perform for as long as he wants. They chose 2 hours.

This show is going to be crazy. The stage set-up is unlike anything before for an EDM show in this town.

I am excited to be a part of what will be an amazing show.

oh well....guess milwaukee it is

first you brag about getting 2300 people attending your show. if you multiple that by $80 you get $184,000. i know tiesto is expensive, and the auditorium was not easy to get, but something doesn't add up here. why don't you break the numbers down for us if you claim you're not making $$$$$$$.

i wouldn't pay anything to see this guy dj and i've happily paid $5 for shows in my city that more accurately represent electronic music.

As I'm sure you know, what you expect and hope for often times is not what actually happens. We're cautiously optimistic but the show is expensive and it's expensive for a reason, because the cost is astronomical. Awesome lights are in the works, awesome sound, etc. We know that if you attend you'll be impressed and have a great time. We just hope that you do attend. You won't be disappointed.

Longer set time vs. higher quality lights/sound. The choice is yours. Either way I'm sure you'll enjoy your self.

its suposed to be about the music right? to be honest with u....of those 40 times i have seen Tiesto, i have only paid more than what u are asking once.....for NYE in LA

Posted by SoundInMotion on Mar-23-2011 15:40:

Of course it's about the music. But doesn't enjoyable music sound better on a decent sound system? I'm not saying that the rig in Milwaukee isn't going to be good but the one in Minneapolis is going to be pretty insane.

Well, the show is in 9 days so we'll just have to see how it turns out.

Posted by epdarks on Mar-24-2011 04:25:

you used to book the occasional carl cox, right? and we you not responsible for loco dice in mpls on a wednesday? would love to see more bookings like that from SIM.

this i'm afraid, is going the opposite direction.

Posted by SoundInMotion on Mar-24-2011 14:53:

You're correct. We've booked just about any of the big guys you can think of. Unfortunately when it comes to the Carl Cox's and Loco Dice's of the world they're not cheap and they don't pull very many people in MN. Thus SIM ends up losing money on them.

Of course we love all genres of electronic music and have booked many events in the past featuring all of those genres but at this time trance, certain styles of house, and dubstep are the ones that are popular.

In addition to Tiesto, we have Wolfgang Gartner, Steve Angello, Infected Mushroom, Shpongle, and EOTO booked for the spring. Check out http://www.simshows.com/ for details on those events.

As for going in the opposite direction, SIM has been booking Tiesto regularly for the last decade as well as AVB, Ferry, PVD, Deadmau5, etc. I'd say that we're pretty consistent in booking big names and taking risks on the lesser known or up and coming ones. Check out past events and take a look...

Tiesto is in 8 days! Get your advance tickets now!
