synth history?
i thought this would be a neat thread...post up people in time who have made a great impact on the development...of synths and stuff like that...or were innovative with using them... (people like wendy carlos etc)
ill start it off with
she basically started off in the 60s using modular synths and by the 70s was working with companys like coke..to create sound effects for commercials and stuff
I'm surprised this guy never seems to get a mention on a trance forum as he in my view invented electronic ambient and so many sound staples used decades later
Iaso Tomita from Japan who did ground breaking work from the 1970's and on.
Still sounds better than 99% of modern ambient to me
NOTICE THE CONSTANT USE OF RESONANTY SWEEPS - UNLIKE ANY OTHER SWEEPS AND SWOOSHES IVE EVER HEARD
is fairly unrelated but do you think he uses the studio he has or the laptop right now?
You see really expensive gear in this video and seeing the sneak peaks Ferry or Armin post from time to time in their own studios you realise that Software has killed Hardware.
What a completely shit and annoying fucking video.
you haven't seen Armada videos lately have you? This actually shows something, a lot of the videoclips have nothing to do with the track, this isn't an exception but at least shows his studio and tells a "story" others are just random images. But don't discuss the video because isn't worth a discussion.
jesus , that video makes him look like a total douche bag. What is with the arm flails. People over 40 should not be making dance videos or at least star in them.

Originally posted by DJ RANN She also debuted, via Stanly Kubric and Bob Moog, the first vocoder, on the score for Clockwork Orange. May be someone can help me out, I remember reading up on this guy years ago but can^t find him now. In the early fifties, he was basically one of, if not the very first person to make entire songs and albums from just purely electronic sounds. His "synths" took up like an entire room and his music was quite minimal. He made money from making childrens music and I think one of them was called "music for children to sleep to". There's this great black and white photo of him alone in this big room with giant tape machines and electronic equipment lining the walls. He basically died penniless from ever diminishing royalty checks and only got recoginsed years later. I don't think it's Dave Haack as he was quite successful in his career. Anyone got any ideas? |

So, does being gay and wanting to make trance add +10 to the gayness?
you are talking about 2 polar types of gayness. They cancel out really. This is the sort of gay that doesn't result in aids. Most would say this type of gay is much less friendly and just really really pathetic.
I've heard it called both types of gay.
And being gay doesn't always lead to AIDS. Lot of straight people get it too.
straight people don't carry the recessive gene.
There are many theories about what causes people to be gay.
I happen to be. It makes life more irritating than usual.
are you using enough lube ?
